Sampson said that after year one he felt we needed shooters and Brooks kind of fell into their lap. They saw him at their summer camp and he was knocking down shot after shot and they were able to land him because they basically started recruiting him before the other schools did and once the other schools noticed him they had such a head start he didn't want to go anywhere else.

Sampson also said the main 2 things he learned in the NBA while he was there is the importance of spacing and when you get a favorable matchup you milk it until the other teams prove they can stop it.

I think thats why you have seen games the past few years where guys like Rob Gray and Corey Davis have games when it looks like teams are clueless and have no idea what they are doing trying to defend against them.

I went to lunch with Mick and Kelvin after the game the other day. They both were pressing me as to who I was going to cast my vote for and I remained tight lipped.
