Missouri Valley Championship: Bradley (19-14)/Northern Iowa (16-17)
2e CBS

CBS frantically trying to sell the game after Sister Jean was eliminated. Not only no Sister Jean, but no Cinderella Drake (24-8) who fell a bucket short after losing Norton (MVC top player), McGlynn (MVC POTY runner-up), & Wilkins (11 PPG) after winning its 2nd MVC title in 50 years in a year with only 2 returning players and new coach.

If Drake was remotely healthy, they would’ve plowed through the MVC and its tournament. Top 30 RPI before injuries.

Yeah, I get the sense CBS is not thrilled. They let the game start while Cincy and Houston went long. UNI went up big and fast, and CBS froze the game a bit before resuming the feed.

UNI will not be denied. CBS can help Bradley catch their breaths as much as they want stopping these games like they do, Ben Jacobsen is finding his legs again with this program (about time!).

It’s going to be cool...Murray State and a public school 6-seed MVC rep dancing.

The look on CBS President’s face must be priceless. This could’ve been 10k Murray fans and Ja Morant and instead they got an NEC-caliber final due to a business partner’s ineptitude.

The Murray State fans and fan boys are annoying.

It’s not Murray State that is causing the giggle. It’s the fatigue over conference politics.

Looks like Ben is getting another case of the yips...

What politics? It gets blown up on this board more than anywhere. League just wanted 10 members. Valpo was the choice over Murray State. Not that big of a deal. Valpo was the stronger program at that time. Where was the peanut gallery chomping at Murray State last year when they were under 500.

MVC was just 1 play from sending a sub-.500 to the NCAA Tournament. For perspective, Murray State has had 1 sub-.500 team in 31 years.

I know, right? It is what it is, though.

With UNI, though...man, what in the **** happened to Ben’s ability to manage a close or big game? He has NOT been the same guy since that loss in the tournament. Does the guy have a job for life at UNI, or does he have an expiration date?

I was going to post in the second half on how UNI would probably end up in Dayton with their .500 record, then I remembered their collapse against A&M in the tournament and thought better of it.

I guess Bradley gets a 15 seed.
