Florida down 3 and guy gets clearly mugged shooting 3 at end of game...

but no whistle....

The refs are awful because fans have chased them away at every level of the sport.

The joke lasted the entire game Stever! Auburn was repeatedly mugged under the bucket by Hayes in the first half and no calls, none. Florida eventually had 2 fouls called on them the entire first half, and only 2 on them in the second half until they started fouling to get to the 1-1. So what you saw was 1 lousy call at the end of a game filled with lousy calls and no calls.

The SEC lost a lot of veteran officials to retirement in the past couple of years and it's showing big time. Florida also got 3 free throws in the second half when their shooter stuck out his leg to make contact with one of our guys. He made all 3 free throws on what would have been a missed 3 and an Auburn rebound.

So unless you watched the whole game, you can't judge the outcome based on the call at the very end.

I agree with you that I didn't see it. However, I think there's the logic that officials have in general that in a late game situation, the refs are going to swallow the whistle and not decide the game. My point, is by doing that, that's EXACTLY what they are doing.

Nembhard was absolutely mugged on that shot and the refs scrooed up. No question about that.

As for a ref's call deciding the game... this is like the non-call on pass interference at the end of the NFC championship game. If it was the only bad call in the entire game, then you could argue the refs decided the game. But if it was one of several really bad calls, as in that Rams-Saints game, then you'd have to correct all of those calls to know which team would have won if the refs had done better.

I actually think he was fouled before he even got into the shot motion.

It should have been 2 free throws and about 2 seconds on the clock. If he was hooting motion than at best 1 second left.

Whatever. The refs and the SEC wanted the game done, they needed the court for the next game
