Heading to Tulsa
Tulsa folks, how the Midtown area? Thinking about staying there and using Uber to get to the games. Should I just stay downtown? Give me your thoughts....

Stay in downtown if you can. There is a ton of food and entertainment options there and shouldn't be hard to get around/to games.

If you don't want to do that there are some hotels over by ORU including a decent casino that our 7-9 miles from the venue with stuff to do and restaurants 81st and Riverside. The area known as Tulsa Hills has some hotels, good shopping and food, but not much nightlife 71st and highway 75...... I would stay away from the area around the mall at 71st and 169 which has stuff but is suburbia and quite a ways from the venue, with traffic being a pain sometimes. Pretty easy to use the ride apps to get around, especially in downtown areas, our public transportation is garbage though.

Definitely stop in to the Gathering Place, we may have a minor league game going on and the ballpark is downtown and the tickets cheap. If you like art we have some.galleries and museums downtown as well as two museums with world recognized collections. If the weather is nice we also have a little trail system for bikes through out the city and a nature preserve/park near both the ORU and Tulsa Hills areas I mentioned. You might also check out Cains for shows those days, but there is a good live music scene going on most nights in town. There are two nice bar/entertainment areas just outside of downtown that will probably keep you out of the NCAA crowds. 18th and Boston which has three or four bars in a tight area, and the Pearl district which is between the University of Tulsa and downtown off 6th St. Good bars and life music pretty standard.

I love midtown personally. Brookside, Cherry St, and Utica Square all have great eating. BS and Cherry St have a nice nightlife, lots of bars and made to be able to walk the strips. Not too far from downtown. I like Smoke on Cherry St. Little expensive but great food, alcohol, and has a cigar lounge.

Midtown is kind of ambiguous. A more accurate location is necessary. Staying at 51st and Sheridan, 51st and Yale not so much a great spot . Staying near Brookside or Cherry Street, good choice.

And for your traveling playlist:

"Take Me Back To Tulsa" - Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys (George Strait also did a nice recording)

"Livin' on Tulsa Time" - Don Williams
