Everyone of them has what it takes to be a tournament team each year.

Just wondering... SMU gets it's full allotment of scholarships back but will fall to ECU/Tulane level? Am I reading right or just an oversight?

SMU will/should be much better next year and moving forward.

Even with that lack of experience, I'm willing to bet he would have attacked the basket once beating the press, and switched to man defense against Iowa on Friday like every other coach would have in the free world.

I wish Memphis had experienced success like Cincy under Cronin the past five years. However, Cincy is in a quandary. Cronin has not demonstrated yet the ability to go to the next level and yet it is a risky move replacing him because of the uncertainty his replacement will better perform.

Yeah, not sure what the answer is. It's very frustrating watching this team flame out every year in the NCAA tournament. I think Cronin is a good coach - hard to deny that he has was a ton of games, but it may be time for a new approach.

It could turn out like the Reds, who fired Dusty Baker because he couldn't get to the world series once the Reds were in the playoffs. The Reds have not been above .500 in the 5 years since Baker was fired.

It must be a Cincinnati thing. Same issue with Marvin Lewis and the Bengals. He proved he could get them to the playoffs, but failed to ever win a playoff game.

Why David Miller wants to give Jank one more year i don’t understand but he didn’t put over $25,000,000 into a program to watch it die.

Jank has only coached with 7 player teams; like him or not, question his recruiting if you want. The guy definitely deserves a chance with a full deck. If Whitt ends up returning, good chance smu is a contender. I’m not anyway an smu guy, but that’s how I see the situation at smu.

Maybe but a private school can be tough to recruit to. I think he is enjoying the difference between Stanford and UCF. Plus he just gave one hell of an interview for the Duke job which I always have thought is his when K leaves. I think taking a school not known for basketball and turning them into a tournament capable program only makes it more likely.

He holds a certain place in Duke history that will always be to his advantage.

He is not going to leave his son to go to Vandy. I would think that a blue blood might be tempting

He will be back. He had some good shooting late season games , but he needs to get so much stronger and show some consistency before thinking of pro ball. I’m sure his father know what it takes at the next level and Aubrey will work towards it.

Yup, sure.

He's 23 = 5th year senior. Who sat out a year for transfer (which is ridiculous to join your dad) and one year doe injury. He was as ready as he was going to be last year. As prepared as he can be this year.

He may go free agent and then g league, he has the sort of financial stability to try that for a year or two with out any negatives. If he hasn't caught on by then he will head overseas and work there or go on to do something with his education. Possibly coaching.

I don't think some on here realize the sort of money you can earn in the top level European leagues or that China is paying for borderline NBA players who are good players there, especially in comparison to the G-league. People live quite nice see the world and retire comfortably from playing overseas, often as local heroes.

Seems to be it ranges but it's around 10% or so of NBA at the top, but they play roughly a 1/3 of the games so more like a college season. Getting paid good money, don't have to go to class, miss the long grinds NBA gives you and still be a celebrity? Not a bad career, be smart with your money and retire in your 30s still in great shape and enjoy life. Yeah I don't know a lot of players who wouldn't sign up for that. Those that would are playing in the NBA.

I met a guy who played for the Sonics for a year or two, then went overseas. He never had a real job and umpired softball to get out of the house. It sounded like a good deal to me.

Vandy and Kevin Stallings should just call 'do-overs' and get back together.

Hiring a retread is a low major move.

Lolololololol at Cronin going to Vandy.

Seriously, Cincy is a Top 25 program. It’s in the upper tier of college coaching positions. I just laugh my ### off.
