"Disney+" streaming service to begin November 12th
"Disney's other streaming services -- Hulu and sports-focused ESPN Plus -- will run on the same tech platform so you can subscribe to them with the same password and credit card info. Disney plans for all three to be individual subscriptions, but it said it's likely to bundle them at a discount."

I already pay for Hulu and have been on the fence for ESPN plus for a while. I would consider a bundle.

Honestly, if I could just pay for a bundle with that and all live ESPN content I would just pair that with HBO and quit cable altogether

Bundling networks?

You wouldn't believe the networks I get.

I get HUNDREDS of channels. NOBODY has more sports content than I do. I NEVER miss a game.

I love my dish.

Yes, the more these "streaming" channels are bundled, the more they start to look like basic cable, LOL.

Not cable, but Netflix. I'll guess the idea is to persuade people to buy their Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle instead of Netflix, that the bundle price will be the same as the Netflix standard price (which is now $12.99/month), and that a bundle with Disney+/Hulu alone will be a couple dollars a month less than Netflix.

I have resisted buying ESPN+. A lot of money for my MACtion fix. And I really don’t care about the other Mouse content.

Is ABC content in this app

$5 a month. Pretty cheap entertainment.

I have a couple of children under the age of six and I am obviously a huge sports fan. Access to the entire Disney catalog plus ESPN’s family of networks would be pretty attractive to me. Also, frankly, I’ve not been overly impressed with Netflix’s children’s offerings – which is really the only kind of movies I tend to watch these days.

If I could do that for say, 15 bucks per month, that’s a done deal!

*grumpy face*

So Disney's plan is to triple dip you (Cable/Dish + Direct Streaming Sub + ISP Kickback for WatchESPN) as much as possible across three content platforms (ESPN, ABC, Disney). I have a feeling after another few decades I'll hold Disney in the same regard as Comcast or the IRS.

True, if you are currently paying nothing for entertianment. But if you are, then $5 on top of that could be onerous.

I mostly use my ESPN+ account to watch MLS season games. The $5/month almost cut my annual fees to watch that in half. Now that ESPN+ is adding more programming and leagues to its inventory, it’s the best deal in sports streaming .

I can only speak to my own viewing habits but for me ESPN+ is a money saver.

The yearly subscription is about $15 less than I was spending for the MLS out-of-market service.
I ended up getting enough NHL games I wanted to see that I couldn't justify NHL GameCenter ($130) and so didn't renew it.
Because of the Sun Belt deal with ESPN, more basketball and baseball games are showing up which offsets the fact that some of the ESPN3 football games have moved to Plus.
I debated dropping MLB.tv this year and instead opted to keep a spreadsheet to see how many MLB.tv games I watch that are available on ESPN+. If it turns out I'm not missing many games I want to see, MLB.tv will get turned off also.

All in all ESPN+ costs me $145 a year less than what I was spending before, now odds are they get some of that back with Disney+ but even Disney+ may end up being a wash as buy and rent fewer movies.
