Just a shot in the dark here but often times a player will give teams a dollar amount they need in order to forgo college. If the team can't hit it, the player tells them not to draft them because they won't go.
Again, just a scenario that happens. Often when you see a guy go undrafted that was projected, that can be why.

Based on what I've seen, it doesn't sound like he's the type of guy that scouts would be interested in throwing a lot of money at. He's touched, I think, 92 but apparently works a good bit lower than that--around 87-88. He's also not a big kid--around 5'11 or so.
As the post above me said, I suspect that he had an amount in mind and scouts were interested but not THAT interested.
He sounds really promising but I'm going to bring down my expectations a notch for next year. I'm sure he will be a solid pitcher and contribute but I'm not going to expect a kid who doesn't have explosive stuff to be a rotation guy as a true freshman. It just doesn't happen much.
Hell, with Shepard and Powell back, he may be more valuable to us as a reliever next year.

Wow. This is terrible news. Anyone have any idea why? We will be even worse than I was already anticipating us to be. So now in addition to losing our top 3 HR hitters (can also be said our ONLY or ALL of our HR hitters), but we have lost our 2 catchers and our top committed catcher. This coming year may be brutal.

Doing grad school there. Probably wanted to be more than a DH or maybe it was purely educational.

Feb 14-16:
Kentucky looking for a road series
Feb 21-23:
- Texas Tech looking for home or road series, or a home and home series
- Southeastern La looking for home series or start of a home and away series but 2020 must be at SE La
- St John's looking for a road series (they had a 112 RPI in 2019 while 2018 was 33)...might be unable due to NY travel ban similar to Stony Brook situation
- Michigan looking for a 3 or 4 game road series (37 RPI in 2019 while 2018 was 63)
- Akron looking for a road series, this is their 1st season since shutting the program down after the 2015 season so should be an easy sweep but a killer RPI in all likelihood
Feb 28-March 1:
- Kentucky looking for a home series
March 6-8
- Arizona St looking for a 3 game home series, large guarantee available
Michigan still available for February 21 weekend. Please make it happen Berry and Caillet

You really think they’ll schedule a tough OOC?

Michigan is losing their two big starting pitchers—probably will be a big drop off. Nevertheless, it would be a good series to get. Most of those series would be great.
I’m sure we would rather play a MAC or Patriot League team so the people in the roost can enjoy an easy sweep and our team can stare at our updated Tradition of Excellence billboard for another weekend than go on the road and challenge ourselves.

RE: 2019-20 offseason baseball discussion
It is funny that the one year we actually did something in the postseason we literally played every OOC series at home. And this was back in the day when C-USA had 6 OOC weekends.
I'm very pro tough OOC, but I wonder how much correlation there actually is to postseason success.

I think it’s more about quality of competition than road vs home.i just assume that we will have to play on that road more to play that quality competition.
C-USA was much better that year than it is now, too.
We played 13 games—11 on the weekend or in the conference tourney— against teams that made Super Regionals that year (Rice x4, ECU x4, Fullerton x3, Ole Miss x2). That Tulane team was probably more talented than any team we have faced in-conference over the last few years, too.

Did we not go to Cal State Fullerton that year and get swept?

RE: 2019-20 offseason baseball discussion
Brooks Warren posted on twitter he is transferring to Mississippi College for his final season. Made 4 appearances with 2.2 innings for us. Definitely a big disappointment his only season as he was a 20th draft pick the year before coming to us. That now puts us at losing at least 14 players (10 seniors, Wallner, Bowen, Warren and McGrew).

Sounds like he was shown the door to make room for a late signee.

2009 was the year Fullerton took BP on our pitching staff at the Pete. I believe the Friday game was the one where we fell for the hidden ball trick.
They swept us in Fullerton in 2008.

From twitter rumors it sounds like Caillet may be leaving for an assistant position at Texas A&M.

Hopefully BA is the next man up in the coaching tree.
