Me too Thunderstruck. He was hobbling around against Tech but what was really embarrassing is that qb draw that UNT would run.
Why run qb draws with a 5-8 165 qb?

To me Littrell has always struck me as old school coach, not that well spoken and play the player until they cant walk anymore.

Opposite of Holtz, good speaker, talker, good at PR but soft on players. I think there is middle ground here where you can be a players coach and not too soft

Rice could afford to pay Saban and Dabo numbers if they wanted to without batting an eye. I imagine they pay Bloomgren middle of the CUSA pack numbers though.

This contract places Littrell among the highest paid coaches in the G5. If no other G5 contracts are signed by opening day of the season, Littrell will more than every coach in C-USA, the MAC, the Sun Belt, the MWC, and all but 4 in the AAC.

1. Houston (Holgerson) $4 million
2. Memphis (Norvell) $2.6 million
3. Navy (Niumatalolo) $2.163 million
4. Cincinnati (Fickell) $2 millon
5. North Texas (Littrell) $1.8+ million
6. Colorado State (Bobo) $1.8 million
7. UCF (Heupel) $1.7 million
8. Boise State (Harsin) $1.65 million
9. Tulane (Fritz) $1.629 million
10. Fresno State (Tedford) $1.55 million

The buyout is 30% of his base of 1.35 million or $1,215,000 if he takes another job after this season. I believe his buyout is almost exactly as I said in another thread...that someone repeatedly kept telling me I was wrong and could not understand what I was reading. The only difference is the added year to his contract. What happened to the huge increase of the buyout that someone said UNT was going to get?

I will pet myself on the back one more time...this contract shows what I said. The coach had all the power. More money. More guarantee money. A lower buyout. This is my first told you so post since I signed up on this board in 2012. I honestly believe it's petty to do that but this is one of those times I believe it's called for.

So will you still be as giddy if UNT does not win a conference championship? Whats the buyout on UNT's side..if he doesnt win?

The percentage of the buy-out stayed the same, but since the amount of the contract went up, and an additional year was added, the total amount of his buy-out went up too. Your math is off. If Littrell left after this season his buy-out would be $1.56 million. I believe under the old contract Littrell's buy-out would have been about $1.16 million after this season. But, you can spin your numbers however you choose. I'm not arguing with you today.

You really do have a problem understanding articles you link to. It CLEARLY states in the article his buyout was 40% and will now drop to 30%.

After this season he has 3 years left at a base of 1.35 million and pays 30% of it. Do the math yourself. But use a calculator. I dont need to spin anything it's right there in the article. The length of the contract changed, the terms of the buyout went down

I'm not threatening you at all I'm asking you to be a man about it. If I was going around apologize for someone on a message board I would do that in person, if I had that chance. That's what a man does so stop by and tell me what you really want to say.

section 130 2nd row, seats 18-16 and I sit on the end seat right on the 50 yardline
section 106 seats 13-12 2nd row of the section 8th row from the floor about level with the ft line

A great contract doesnt let a coach that won 2 conference championships walk away for less than you had to pay a 1st time coach to not coach. A great contract doesn't let a coach you know that isnt staying long walk away after 1 season for 1.2 million. The same you paid a first time head coach...not to coach. Ark St got I believe 2 million for Bryan Harsin

The best money he could have spent was 2 years ago...you know when he didn't hire Helton. You fire a coach then hire the man that you didn't think was good enough just 2 short years ago. Then spend 2 years telling fans...Helton was part of the problem because Brohm's staff didnt do it the correct way.

Then hire the guy you passed over and said was part of the problem

edit: lets not forget this part of BP's contract . If you take another coaching job that school must play a home and home, if you can fit it into your schedule. What the hell is that. I wrote better contracts at 17 years of age than that languish

You are clearly old, senile, and out of touch. Under his old contract, the buy-out would have dropped to 30% after the season, which is the same percentage it will be under this new contract.

Also, you clearly didn't read the entire article. It is a one year extension which will pay him through the 2023 season, FIVE YEARS. So, after this year he will have 4 years remaining. Not 3.

Spin what you want. I don't care. Littrell got a raise. North Texas is raising their standards. And, we will be in good shape when/if we need to hire a new coach after this season. Hate on WKUYG. 07-coffee3

I told you I wasnt threatening you I wanted to give you the chance to be the man you seem to think you are and tell me to my face what you think. I'm not on a message board looking for approve from people I dont know. I dont care if they are a fan of Western or any other school.

You seen to need that, not me. I dont have a problem telling you in person anything I say behind a screen name on the Internet. Since you asked me and I told you (dont have one problem posting a picture of them) where are your seats located? Or are you one of those fans that shows their support by opinions only? I dont think you will answer that because I think we both know about your manhood

Boy Idiot is no longer at Western the AD who was an idiot on writing first time coach's contracts...

gave the Idiot 1.2 million dollars not to coach this season.

Best 1.2 million he spent. And it was paid from the great contracts he wrote for the other coaches so can’t speak outta both sides of your mouth buddy.

I updated the numbers for Helton.

Sorry WKUYG is giving you such a hard time on my account. I guess he'll want me to go apologize to him as well.

He is a joke of a human. No wku fan actually takes him seriously. Most can’t stand his message board antics, his views on wku sports is just stupid. He acts likes a Spoiled little brat who will brag at the smallest thing but try to be all tough and wanna threaten someone.

50 yard line 3/4 rows from the top on bottom section. Basketball is close to
Half court 3 rows from the court. Like I said I am sure we h e sat pretty close to
Each other on all the away games we have probably went to together. You bully people all the time on a message board.

Sections? because unlike you I dont mind stopping by to let you tell me everything you have to say.

edit: section and seats and if you have a problem posting this in open board you can message me. But let me know because I hardly go to messages. I will be gone for the rest of the day but when I get back I will send (pm)you a picture of my tickets that way you know I'm not bullshitting you and trying to get you to go up to someone else.

Step back from the ledge guys, no more exchanging seat numbers or telephone numbers or number of kids or grand kids.

Let's just enjoy the day with family and friends.

A blessed 4th to you both.
