Prepping for Syracuse
Factors and Comments as the LU/SU game approaches:
1. Non-Freeze factor - with medical reports stating Freeze had surgery in C'ville for infection and back issues, he's been ordered to coach from the press box, and not from the sidelines for the SU game. - Sometimes adversity benefits the weaker team in the short term. I don't believe so in this situation. Advantage SU
2. Attendance Record - Last year the ODU opening FBS game, attendance wise, was a bust with the pre-game lightning and weather. What could have been an all time record attendance did not occur. - With the SU game, one can expect all time attendance to date. Williams Stadiums first: 1st 25 team, 1st ACC team. Attendance guess: 25,000
3. High expectations for SU, Excitement for LU. SU seems poised to climb in the polls. LU is excited to play SU, and as 2nd year FBS program, if LU could play close and lose respectfully, LU gains. If SU smothers LU, SU gains little as this is an expected win with 17+ points spread. Little to lose for LU with a loss.
4. Final: SU 45- LU 28. Seems the odds makers are on target with the score.

I think the HCHF factor is a big one. I thought we may sneak one out but I don’t see that now. I think the offense looks good but the defense gets worn out in the second half. Syracuse 41-27

Freeze being up in the booth will likely give him a better viewpoint to call the offense from. Plus, it may inspire the team to play better. I don't think we'll win, and we may get blown out, but I don't think it will be why we lose the game.
