RE: Andre Weir
Andre is off to a rocky start at Richmond. He didn't dress for game one against Morehead earlier this week or game two against Kentucky today.....coach's decision. He said something like, "There are a couple of areas where he hasn't met expectations."

I was wondering why he didn't play. I watched some of the Kentucky game waiting to see if he got in. Then I saw the boxscore and his name wasn't listed.
Interesting to say the least.
Richmond isn't Boston that's for sure.

Wiz, I watched the game, too. Richmond is really good. Their bigs are all quick and agile while Weir is more like an Anthony Green traditional five. I have to say that their coach's words were a little harsh but maybe he's a tough love guy. Do you think Coen would have commented the same way?

I don't know how much winning Richmond has done other than last season recently.
When Weir was coming to NU, I used to look at his mother's Tweets. She was pretty excited about him playing in Boston.
And no, Coen wouldn't be that blunt publically with a player.

RE: Andre Weir
Completely agree. I remember when Anthony showed up his freshman year. He looked like he spent the whole summer going to all you can eat buffets but Coen never publicly said anything. By the beginning of his sophmore year Anthony was fit and his time on the court more than tripled.
Things turned around for Richmond last year...just in time for their coach. Before the season began a bunch of fans paid to put up a billboard on I 95 saying, "Fire Chris Mooney"

Game three for Richmond and Weir is still ot dressing. Their coach was asked about it again and he said, "Andre is not doing everything we've asked him to do."

Yeah. One day you're being wined and dined and before you know it your coach is telling the world, "he's not meeting our expectations."

LOL. First, you don't let him dress for the first three games....then you tell the press (twice) that he's not meeting your expectations.....then you let him dress for games but play EVERYONE ELSE but him......and now you say he made a hasty decision?

Looks like Andre was just "recruited over." FGCU just brought in 6'11" center Kevin Samuel from TCU where he started every game and averaged nine points, eight rebounds and holds the school record for blocked shots.

RE: Andre Weir
Looks like it is happening again. Kevin Samuel was brought in last year and Weir didn't get many minutes playing behind him and averaged 3.7 ppg. Well, Samuel entered entered the portal and transferred but FGC jist signed 6' 11" four star and top one hundred center Sam Ayomide. Even worse, he has used his one time transfer so if he wants to go somewhere he can get some playing time he has to sit out a year.
