Ok, fair enough, perhaps this is just sarcasm, but I simply don't see Georgia State's adding what the AAC will be needing. Yes, big market, decent facilities, but if BYU and Army get a score of 10 on Aresco's list, a school like Georgia State surely wouldn't score higher than 3.

If someone is teasing the Georgia State base and leading them along, I hope they'll lay off doing so, because they probably have something like a snowball's chance of being invited within the next 10 years.

When I proposed Rice, it was a serious suggestion in a future 14 member incarnation of the AAC, but I recognized that few would take it very seriously. Net/net, regardless of the developmental time required to get them up to speed, I think the AAC could afford to drag along a cellar dwellar like Rice for a few seasons, insofar as the benefits - intrinsic and extrinsic - would be many.
