Kinda interesting, Sun Belt to CAA seems like a kinda lateral move
Money talks. With JMU moving into a shiny new arena, they had to open up their wallets a bit on this hire. Looks like he'll get $450k or more per year.
Meanwhile, GSU doesn't invest in basketball. He had to turn that program around basically on his own. He gets another reclamation project in JMU, but at least he walks into a situation where not only is he getting compensated nicely, but they really have to give him the tools to succeed.

CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
Poor GA State, coach left them for a CAA school. It warms my heart so.

Wrong GSU. - it’s Georgia Southern’s coach

Ahh. I'm still caught up in the "who is the real GSU battle."

Recruiting basketball players at JMU will be easier than at Georgia Southern.

Why do you say recruiting will be easier?

Am certain there is occasional disharmony on many college campuses. News reporting from 2019 suggests it’s more acute at Georgia Southern.

Looking at his record at Georgia southern, and I almost hate to bring this up, it kinda reminds me of Shaver, albeit on a more condensed timeline. Took a few years to get his footing, churned out a few 20 win seasons, but was never able to win the league title.

This from Jon Rothstein today:

The Atlantic 10 is considering going to a 20-game conference schedule, per Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette McGlade.
McGlade: "With the inventory of non-conference games shrinking, we have to consider 20 games."
Lots of pushback on the better teams having to play Fordham and LaSalle more than once. Also, reduces, even more, the possibility of playing a Richmond OOC.
