Great news on Kendric Davis, a true point guard, for the Mustangs. Still waiting on Darius McNeill, guard from Cal. According to Jank, we needed a true point to improve this team.

Huge news. The true pass-first point guard we have sorely lacked. Only potential problem is on D where they have been able to switch every single screen/pick as nobody playing was shorter than 6’4”. Davis might be 5’11”.

Tulsa is one denied and we are still waiting on the other. Coach just talked about it the last few days/week.

We had our denial appeal rejected too.

Thanks. I will fix it.

It came out yesterday that Haywood's got denied too, so that's both of TU's waivers (Embery-Simpson and Haywood). I don't know if we are gonna appeal Haywood's denial, but I know Embery-Simpson's appeal was also denied.

We really need to fire Gragg. The fact that Grimes gets to play at Houston and neither of our transfers, who's schools had actual issues, get to play is ridiculous. There was no reason for ours to be denied other than our department's incompetence.

The probable reason - like Izzo states - is the arbitrary decisions made by the NCAA.

Jake Forrester's waiver has been approved and he is immediately eligible. Should be a big help to Temple's front court.

Saw Jake Forrester play both in the Bahamas and in Temple’s open scrimmage. Very athletic, but work in progress. Will wait and see if HC McKie thinks he’s ready to help Temple anytime soon.

I’ve made this point before as well. Kids with late waiver approvals are being penalized for no wrongdoing. I’m sure the NCAA feels like they are doing the player a favor by approving a waiver and letting them play without sitting a year (even though said player is forced to miss games for no good reason).

Jake (6'8" 220 lb. PF) has a year of D1 training at Indiana and Temple under his belt and played in 13 games as a freshman, averaging 2.1 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.1 assists, and 0.3 blocks in 4.2 mpg, with a FG% of .545.

His statistical productivity (pts+rb+ast+stl+blk) per minute played at Indiana was good,
with 3.8 positive stats per 4.2 minutes played (i.e., nearly 1 (0.905) positive stat per minute played). His player effectiveness rating (PER) at Indiana was above average for a D1 player (PER=17.3; (average D1 PER=15.0)).

He is considered a very capable rebounder, with good defensive skills, who is effective in the low post area.
These skills will put him in good stead within Coach McKie's system, which emphasizes stringent interior defense and rebounding, areas in which Temple had difficulties last season.

His eligibility couldn't come at a better time for Temple, due to a back injury to Temple's starting Center
(Damion Moore) which could limit his effectiveness this season. With Forrester able to help fill the gap, Moore can take the time needed to recuperate fully, and if advisable, he could opt to take a medical RS and play his 4th season as a graduate student.

Forrester enters a rotation that has had to rely on a committee of four "6'6," 6'7," 6'9," 6'10") forwards to handle the 4 and 5 positions in the past two games. His the low post skills will permit him and 6'9" Arashma Parks (7.5 mpg) to play vital backup minutes at the 5 position behind 6'10" Justyn Hamilton (14.8 mpg), who started the past two games, leaving 17.7 mpg that had to be covered by the team's 6'6" (19.5 mpg) and 6'7" (29.3 mpg) forwards who were also responsible for playing all of the PF minutes.

Bad news for Stokes and the Tigers. His waiver, unsurprisingly given the vindictive NCAA and their aptness at punishing players, was denied.

Here is the revised list:

Memphis: One denied
SMU: One approved. Waiting for one.
Temple: One approved. Waiting for one.
Tulane: One approved
Tulsa: Two denied

Review completion rate (as of 12/3/19). 75%

Review completion rate before the season: 25%

In the few games Forrester has played he’s shot and rebounded well, except for fouling once every five minutes of playing time and committing too many turnovers.
