I've been defending them for quite some time, but we have a long way to go. Let's give it a little more time. Temple looks great so far.

Updated for Yesterday's games. None of the games were considered good wins so just a record update

Yikes. Our conference has two Q1 wins? And I’m sorry but I audibly laughed out loud when I got to ECU’s portion. Better luck next year....

Interesting note I just saw posted. SMU, Tulsa and Tulane have the 3 of the 6th easiest schedules so far according to KenPom.
SMU- easiest
Tulsa 3rd easiest
Tulane 6th easiest

Over at realtimerpi, which is a stickler for SOS, the bottom 3 teams in the conference and WSU have improved SOS rankings recently. This trend will contribute to improved ratings when conference play begins.
Fortunately for us, despite general agreement that the AAC's total SOS rank remains low, the AAC's 74% winning percentage is one of the highest among D1 conferences, and has boosted the conference's ranking Massey composite still has the conference ranked #7 overall.
The realtimerpi site has the AAC ranked #9, behind the A10 and MAC, but the AAC only lags them in SOS rankings. It appears that the AAC will soon move ahead of those two teams into the familiar #7 position, where it may be most likely to remain for some time, unless the conference's SOS shoots up rapidly before conference play begins.

Our schedule has been easy. Without a doubt. And it's still 70 spots better than those 3.
It gets real starting Sunday though. 4 of the 5 remaining non con games are Q1/Q2

Wait, you’re telling me UTep and Sacramento State aren’t top 30 Teams ?!!! But Real-time RpI said they were !
Look it’s been said many times: the ranking services and metrics don’t work this early in the season. Just wait. Tranquilo. Good news I guarantee- Tulane will be top 150 this year.

Making a strong argument that we should have kept ECU as a FB-only member as they were originally offered.

I’m concerned Jarron’s injuries will linger all year. He’s played the 6th most minutes on the team and just hasn’t looked right. Luckily Keith Williams and Vogt have surprised to the upside but this team isn’t making the tournament without Jarron as an all conference performer.

I laughed too when I just saw how much space on my screen the list of bad losses took up. I then wanted to cry thinking about how bad this is and how hopeless this feels as someone who's wanted my entire life to have even a semi respectable basketball program.

Can someone explain to me the "Luck" rating on Kempom? ECU is obviously horrific all over but they are also at least according to that measure horribly unlucky, ranking 335th in the country in that category.

It's becoming a big concern. Especially because he's seemed to be battling different injuries all year. His kenpom ortg is only 92.7. Despite that UC's numbers with there main four on the floor are still great (Jarron, Keith, Scott, Vogt) because he opens so much up for everyone and that group has defended particularly well. If these injuries linger they'll never achieve what this team could achieve.

It's basically what you would expect your record to be based on your efficiency numbers v. what it actually is. I think it's too early to read much into luck numbers (like many of his numbers), but a way a team could be unlucky under kenpom is if they put they played really competitive games against better teams and loss and then player worse games against some of the bad teams and also lost.
Last year the Bearcats had really solid "luck" numbers because they kept winning close games where they were expected to win by more.

Thanks for that. I was wondering if it somehow factored injuries in as well, which is really the only way I could really come up with how ECU would be rated so "unlucky" right now.
