Fun Fact: LSU Tigers and New Orleans - National Championships
I don’t know if this has been posted elsewhere. I find it interesting that, since the BCS era began, LSU has (including this season) participated in 4 national championship games and all 4 have been in New Orleans.

2003 - defeated Oklahoma in Sugar Bowl
2007 - defeated Ohio St in BCS National Championship Game
2011 - lost to Alabama in BCS National Championship Game
2019 - will play Clemson in CFP National Championship Game

Since the BCS began, the only championship game in New Orleans not to feature LSU was for the 1999 season when Florida St defeated Virginia Tech. That season, LSU finished 3-8 (1-7 SEC) as the 2nd worst team in the SEC (South Carolina, 0-11).

Nice post.
We're winning this.
Everything is lining up.
I say that as a secondary LSU fan (I escaped)

Yes everything is lining up. I think Clemson is an easier matchup than Ohio State as well. Just got to watch that Trevor Lawrence running.

LSU’s 3 national title winning Sugar Bowls were over OSU, Clemson, & Oklahoma.

Their 3 adversaries in this year’s playoff...with an national title on the line in New Orleans.

That’s going back to the 50s, I think. That’s just wild.

Two Tigers that rarely ever see each other in the wild apparently.

Well one tiger, Mike, is a real Bengal Tiger. The other one is a geeky kid in a really funky suit. That's probably whey they've seldom met or one of the two might have been et!

Found by Google: LSU, Clemson similarities go well beyond their nicknames

[Image: clemson-tigers-mascot-lsu-tigers-mascot....amp;crop=1]

Quote:Both Clemson and LSU play in enormous, intimidating football stadiums that have been dubbed “Death Valley” for years...

Quote:Tigers and preposterously talented football teams... They also have the same nickname...

Quote:Mike VII entered the world on Sept. 13, 2016, named Harvey, but after doctors at LSU’s veterinary school deemed him fit to serve he was given his new identity...

Quote:Clemson’s mascot is actually a three-student rotation that inhabits the suits of The Tiger and his nephew, The Cub...

Quote:The teams ought to be evenly matched in New Orleans on Jan. 13. The mascots? I’d have to put my money on Mike VII if it came to that, honestly. Even if it is a two-on-one fight.
