FAMC Music City Bowl: Mississippi State vs Louisville
Good matchup in a nice place. The experts seem to like UofL, and I agree, but should be a close game.

Nashville is a great bowl destination. Easy drive and fun atmosphere downtown with live music and the opportunity for some day drinking. Really enjoyed traveling there with Purdue last year

Yes, not only is it a fun city but there aren't a lot of bowls that are an easy drive for both SEC and B1G schools, and even some ACC teams.

RE: FAMC Music City Bowl: Mississippi State vs Louisville
My last trip to the Music City bowl was exactly 20 years ago. It felt like me in a stadium of 50K mostly drunk UK fans. Cuse fans were probably outnumbered 50 to 1. Our team was really bad (worst team since the mid 80's and actually lost to a 10 loss Rutgers team in '99) and UK had a surprisingly good team. After two straight major bowls (Fiesta/Orange) under McNabb the fans didn't show for the lowly Music City Bowl. I was embarrassed for our frontrunning fanbase. UK lost their AA Tight End in the first half and that was the difference as Cuse came back in the 2nd Half to win.

Yep, that's huge. I'm only within a 10-hour drive of 3 bowls (Motor City, Music City, Liberty). Fortunately, the regular season is great with such a high volume teams that you can often catch doubleheaders before November.

As a Card fan, I have to disagree with the experts. I think Mississippi State runs all over my boys today.
I will obviously hope that Scott Satterfield can keep his undefeated bowl record in tact, but I think he has an uphill climb to do so.
We shall see!
As far as the Music City Bowl is concerned ... ditto the comments in this thread. A great host city, a short drive from a good hunk of college football, should spell continued success for this bowl game.

Ha! Miss State's defensive coordinator needs to find a new line of work. They aren't even close to knowing their assignments. It's Louisville's Helter Skelter offense against Miss State's clueless defense and Miss State's size on offense against an undersized Cardinal D. The fact that Miss State doesn't call plays to use that size advantage is a testimony to Moorehead's overall ineptitude as the Head Coach. Nothing much has changed since the regular season.

Louisville has outplayed them all game ... a missed field goal, and a fumble on the 2, means most likely 10 points aren't on the board, which as a Cards fan makes me nervous.
But Mississippi State beat Kentucky, and Kentucky crushed us, so .... I expected the worst.
Still time to go ... but I'm liking where we are now.

Hey, congrats on the win! Louisville outcoached them big time. State had 3 sitting it out for the draft and one was a key secondary guy. But your guys had injuries and displayed the spirit and hustle to win. Physically State was larger but they certainly couldn't cover their butt with a blanket let alone Tutu.

Congratulations, Louisville! Real nice win to end your season with.

My sister-in-law attended UofL and (all things being equal) ... I always root for the "urban public universities," including Louisville. Good win for the Cards.
I live in downtown Nashville and the fans tonight (from both schools) were present in full force. The city is hopping with people.

Thanks -- I feared their size too, especially with our gentle giant Mehki Becton sitting out for draft prep too. A nice way to end the season for sure.

Speed usually trumps size in the absence of a dangerous passing attack because there's always one unblocked defender. If you can't force the defense to keep a "free" safety back to stop the pass, you're going to have trouble moving the football.
