Yes, Auburn 2013 is unique in that they won not one but two games with "miracle" finishes that year. Nobody else pro or college has done that to my knowledge. And, to play for the national title, they absolutely needed BOTH miracles to happen, if either one doesn't happen they don't get to play for the title.

Heck, forget about two in a year, most programs have at most one in their entire program history. E.g. here at LSU they talk about the "Bluegrass Miracle" vs Kentucky in 2002, because that's basically the only time they ever won a game like that, ever. Auburn did it twice in back to back weeks.

Then ... they dominate FSU for most of the game, are up 21-3 at one point, but play an inept last 10 minutes or so and blow it. Very Auburn of them, LOL.

From the other side of the field, that game foreshadowed the problems FSU would have in 2014 of falling behind in the first half. Yes, they came back to win all but the last game, but it was a bad habit to get into - and Auburn was really the beginning of that trend for the Noles.

True, Alabama had some real issues at the time, but UCF was in its infancy.

And Alabama fired DuBose the next day.

The transformation Cardinal Stadium underwent in a short period of time in CFB history is nuts. Love the Hummer commercials -- that vehicle going extinct is a tragedy.

That and Jimbo Fisher and company forgot that Dameyune Craig went from FSU to Auburn in the previous offseason and they should probably change their play calls before Kelvin Benjamin was screaming that Auburn knew their plays in the 2nd quarter.

It's hard to put that on a sign, but App State is better known for beating Michigan as a FCS school than they are for multiple FCS NCs.

Greatness.

Care to back up your comment? Tell me about the other times Auburn has blown a big lead in a national championship game, or any game? I can only think of 1 of the top of my head.

Auburn does a great job of either winning one they shouldn't or losing one they should but when they do they almost always either win it start to finish or lose it start to finish. We don't luck one out very often and that was highly unusual for the 2013 season. But we don't usually blow them late either.

The Auburn / Georgia game that went 5 overtimes was an example of a blown lead (although not a large one). We had the ball less than 5 minutes to play and a narrow lead but Georgia only had 1 time out. We had run the ball well but elected to throw deep when we only needed a couple of yards to salt it away. They tied us and won in a marathon overtime. The other one was Tiffen's 52 yard field goal to win the Iron Bowl against us literally on the last second. That was probably a payback for the 17-16 game where we blocked an extra point and two punts both returned for touchdowns to beat an undefeated Bryant squad.

So your analogy is bogus. We don't choke very often, but we are upset or upset others but usually start to finish, or play tit for tat games that just don't end our way which have gone both ways with L.S.U. quite a few times.

The Michigan win may have put us on the map and there's no denying how it changed our university and football program for the better. But the tradition and culture created around those National Championships has had a much larger and longer impact on the school that has directly played into our sustained success, more than any single game could. With all that being said, the sign was updated a couple years ago and no longer boasts our back-to-back-to-back National Championships.

Alabama out coached at the end of that game. Really enjoyed that play.

The greatest regular season game of my lifetime

One thing I didn’t recall - the refs royally screwed TCU in the final 2 minutes. Baylor commits a clear PI on TCU’s 4th&3 around the Baylor 40 where the defender objectively runs into the receiver and never turns his head. Then Baylor has a 3rd&10 in TCU territory where the defender never touches the WR and a flag is thrown, pushing Baylor into FG range and effectively winning them the game.

TCU would’ve been better off losing by 2 TD’s at home to a below-.500 ACC team.

gee, I wonder which ACC team you mean, or who finished ranked ahead of TCU after losing at home to said team...
