Yes, that Rex Chapman-UK and Charlotte Hornet basketball star

Back from painkiller addiction.

College to NBA to twitter-that's realignment, isn't it?

He's definitely realigned.

And now a whole generation doesn't know him for basketball, but for Twitter videos. Realignment, indeed.

His "block or charge" segments are pretty funny.

Every hoops fan of a certain age remembers Rex Chapman. You can't talk about hoops in the 1980s without him. He was a polarizing figure for his hype and flashiness as Kentucky's golden boy. And unlike his contemporary Steve Alford, he did make it in the NBA, lasting to the turn of the millennium in the league.

Good to see he apparently is beating his demons.

Correct.

I literally had no idea he was a prominent player or even that he was a player...

I just knew he had a popular Twitter account.

I remember the 2015 Final Four, and CBS/Turner had Rex Chapman as the analyst on the Kentucky homer broadcast. Rex was quite the homer, yelling at the refs on the air. It was entertaining. Out of the box, but entertaining.

There was a day that Rex was the baddest white boys to play the game. I saw him jump over a seated 7’ 2” Felton Spencer for high school dunk contest. Probably still one of the top 6 or 7 to ever come out of Kentucky.

Homer broadcasters are supposed to be homer. Ever hear Johnny Most call a Celtics game? Every Celtics player was a Saint and everything they did was a Sacrament, and everything the other team did was dastardly, if not demonic, LOL. But that was his job.

That's why they're good. I like the homer broadcaster when I'm rooting for that team. :-) "We" and "Them".
