Tightens up the Mountain East and closes the competitive gap with rival league Mountain West.

Looks like it was an extension of Franklin University in Columbus, OH.

Urbana was only a GLIAC women's lacrosse affiliate member for two seasons.

Sadly Urbana has been circling the drain for quite awhile. Franklin University tried to save it but I am not sure it would have survived even without the virus. Not sure why they were D2 as they screamed D3.[/i]

Urbana was on the failed list just like MacMurray.

Let’s see him predict a college that is doing well and have him “predict” it closing.

Yes, you don't need to be Jimmy the Greek to "predict" this. Urbana would have closed in 2014 if Franklin University had not bought it.

Urbana was inevitable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lake Erie closes too. They were in terrible shape when I did consulting work for them and that was 10 years ago.

Finally a college in Ohio drops its FB.

Less competition for everyone else. MAC coaches have complained about all the smaller schools taking away walk-on talent.

That was when they left the NAIA. Was your consulting related to that?

Nah, I built curriculum for their education department to train local teachers how to incorporate local history into their lessons. NE Ohio was an abolition hotbed and the founders of Lake Erie Female Seminary were some of the area’s loudest

The MEC and G-Mac schools negotiate a trade: ND (Ohio) for the 2 WV schools. Everybody saves on travel.

Cincinnati Christian in NAIA closed in December had football.
Mid-Western Ohio College/ University closed down a few years ago, and they had football in the USCAA.

USCAA only have 2 football members left.
Apprentice who have a waiver from D3 to play as part of a conference for their football which counts.
Williams Trade can only play NJCAA schools since they are considered a two year school, and can't get the waiver.

D2 took a hit the las several years losing members from A)schools closing, B)schools moving to D1, C)schools dropping down to either D3 or NAIA, D)merging with another school (r.i.p. Armstrong State who was doing better attracting students then Savannah State) or E)dropping all sports but two like Cheyney did. Only one case of two schools merging their sports and that was LIU-Post merging with LIU at the D1 level. Lindenwood at D2 got the merging with their sister campus from NAIA.

D2 could be in a crisis if they start losing more members by either closing or dropping down. The larger schools may look at jumping to D1 sooner than later. That would mean schools that have said no the past few years.

Oh my! The sky is falling! Save yourself and move to D1 or you're doomed!

D2 has lost 21 members from 2011 to 2019. This year has become a very unusual year and 8 members will be lost but the division will still have more than 300 members.

Complete bloody unbelievable idiocy.
