Actually (and maybe this is because I'm from the Midwest), I was surprised that anyone got any spring practices in at all.

Personally, I find it awesome that UConn was one of only 2 schools to complete their entire spring practice schedule prior to the shutdown. Looks like they're transforming into a "football school" with independence, no?

What about COVID-19 disrupting spring football practice is “shocking?”

South Carolina got like 8 or 9 practices in. We were one of the earliest to start but I think we only do 2 or 3 practices a week to spread it out

VT got in zero practice. With a new defensive coordinator. Not ideal.

That sounds like a good reason to ask the NCAA for more fall (summer) practice days. It probably would just be an increase in practice days for every team, because teams like South Carolina aren't going to want fewer fall practice days than their opponents just because they got in a few spring practices.

OTOH, at this point teams would probably be happy just to be able to get in the normal number of fall practices and play all of their scheduled 2020 games.
