Some day we are going to sue you for use of the University of California's abbreviation.

It pays to be founded first and use the abbreviation first. Good luck with it though, University of California System would probably end up having to pay Cincinnati like Chick-fil-A is having to do for having their logo to similar.

RE: UC Colleges cancels 2020: 770, 000 students out
On another topic, Nevada and Colorado joined California, Washington and Oregon in the Western States pact, to open at roughly the same time with roughly the same guidelines. Colorado for example will get a report on the 25th similar to the ones we are getting California to determine who is getting infected and what to do next.
CU buffs are now in the same group with the schools in those states. That leaves the P12 with just Utah and the Arizona schools. MWC has two schools in Colorado and two in Nevada, as well as three in California, plus Hawaii is pretty dependent on California to do anything. That really just leaves Boise State, Utah State, Wyoming and New Mexico.
I read the statement from SJSU's AD, and it sounded like they are also exploring along the same lines as SDSU and Fresno State with the MWC an d the conference medical director "sounded encouraging". But it was less optimistic. I don't see how they play without students on campus or tickets sold. Cal's AD said they think it's possible the Bears could play, and they are in contact with the Pac-12.
I get the general impression AD's and football coaches (and sports writers) are begging for an exception to the distancing. It just seems like too much of disconnect. But they are getting desperate as we head toward summer and the need to make decisions for August.

They have no say so to the matter. ADs, coaches and sports writers do not make the decisions on this issue. It is the school presidents and leadership, and if they say no? There will be no football on the west coast.

At the FBS (or big-time-basketball) level, ADs do have some influence with the presidents. It's the president's call, but I wouldn't group ADs with coaches and media in the "nowhere near the decision making" basket.

Upstarts. When the University of Cincinnati was established, California was a Spanish possession.
