Source: A very cool comeback story at Louisiana Tech. The school will host the 2021 Conference USA baseball championships. They will be held in the new J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, completely rebuilt after tornados devastated Ruston in April of 2019.

Glad to see we are having a tourney in 2021 as some conferences have canceled theirs. We are also keeping the 8 team format as other conferences have reduced their tournament to top 4 teams. Good news!!

Congrats to Tech, but we finally find a neutral location that can conduct a tournament financially and successfully (Biloxi), and we move it. This conference with its administration will never make it. Remember, this is nothing against the Bulldogs, just our commissioner.

Sorry, I saw that in the press release.

A little surprised they didn't throw the eastern teams a bone and give one of the next 3 years to FAU/FIU or Charlotte. I realize you've got to put a bid in for it and have a desire to host it which is probably the reason that the 3 listed (LT, USM, RICE) are hosting as there's probably not another school that would come close to the minimum bid. Regardless, 3 great venues will get to host the next 3.

5216 folks showed up in Biloxi in 2017 for the USM-Rice championship game. La Techs new stadium will SEAT about 1,000 but plenty of standing room plus they say some seating on a berm so anyone making it to a similar game in Ruston better take a lawn chair or blanket.

My first question about us hosting was how we'll ever get the actual attendance numbers? Who will count the number of hot dogs ACTUALLY sold each day? What if someone buys a ticket but leaves before the last INNING!?!?!? What if Tech tries to include a student on a balcony as part of the REAL LIFE ATTENDANCE NUMBERS!?!?!!? Oh the humanity!

You know anyone who likes counting heads from tv shots? Seems like a super valuable and interesting skill set.

And, you know, maybe eventually someone can catch us up on the outcomes of the games or whatever. . .

This is GREAT news for LA Tech! And I truly think CUSA is doing the right thing by holding the Tournament in Ruston next season. Also, congrats to USM and Rice for nailing down the host spots for 2022 & 2023. CUSA should have very good crowds at all 3 of these events. I think CUSA could be entering a Golden Era in baseball.
