The article doesn't say that.

Quote:Zombo would love to take the men’s team to the Division I level and take advantage of the increasing number of quality players coming out of St. Louis. He just needs the go-ahead.

“We just need a rubber stamp from the president,” Zombo said. “Our AD is doing the work already. Any time you’re starting out, the bottom line is going to be in the red. You’ve got to let the community know you’ve got a program. We just need a go-ahead from the people that write the checks.

In other words, the coach would really like the school to go Division I. The AD is looking for money.

SO it's very possible that there is no money.

Zombo thinks it can help take Lindenwood hockey to the next level. While the women’s team at Lindenwood has played at the NCAA Division I level since 2011, the men’s team still plays at the club level. Zombo would love to take the men’s team to the Division I level and take advantage of the increasing number of quality players coming out of St. Louis. He just needs the go-ahead.

We also don't know whether Lindenwood will survive the FBI investigation. They were named as a suspect of interest in the Adidas shoe scandal from 3 years ago.

Bellarmine
Northwest Missouri State
West Alabama
Chaminade
Grand Valley State
Florida Tech
Lindenwood
Mount Olive

Those are some big name schools in D2. We may have to watch these as well to see how far and who was being nabbed by the FBI.

Ahh, Lindenwood. Assuming they can use the Blues practice facility like the women, instead of the usual $100M, NoDak could just tell us where the $30-40M to start the program is coming from!
