Maybe the NCAA penalties will cut the P5 down to size (good for the G5)?

It's long been clear that a lot of the P5 schools break the rules.

Glad to see them penalized. I hope this will boost viewership of the G5 in FB and the non-P5 conferences in BB.

Not very likely. Plus, I wonder, have P5 schools historically been found to break the rules moreso than G5 schools? Not even sure that is true.

I believe SMU, last time I checked, was still a member of the G5. They have been on NCAA probation more than any other program in the NCAA. Additionally, Memphis, Houston and Cincinnati are all in the top-25 of total times on probation as well.

It's not P5/G5 thing.

But Houston and SMU were major conference schools when their probation happened.

Houston just had a recent scandal in football and SMU had a scandal under Larry Brown in basketball a few years ago. Both happened while in the AAC and the G5.

Again, it’s not a P5/G5 thing.
