No one wants NT, No one likes NT, Not here, Not on killer froggies... Why are you here

The food chain will never get so far down to you to get the Invite. I doubt it gets to Tech. But if it does. There is where you are screwed because you and I both know they aren't going to pass the invite up if it comes to them. So get over yourselves in thinking your the next C-USA and VA Tech. Our last I-AA team would have murdered you guys.

Hey Herd Zone why the animosity towards UNT? You seem to dislike them more than any of the other candidates? Just interested.

It's interesting that you were in favor of SMU getting into Cusa, et hit on UNT's record. They have had only one winning season in the last 17 years and that was a 6-5 season. In fact, over 50 % of there losing seasons were with 3 wins or less during that time.

UNT has won their conference the last 3 years, played in the New Orleans Bowl the last 3 years, beat the CUSA co champ year before last and lost to TCU by only 4 points that same year.

SMU was 0-12 last year. [/QUOTE]
.........................................................................................................................................................

NT Old Timer, too much coal dust in the brain from this group of Herd'alos. They really have a problem with UNT but if I lived in good ol' West Virginny' I think I'd be jealous of anything from Texas, too.

Jeez! Which state has the mystique of the rest of the entire USA here?!? Anything from TEXAS vs West Virginia? Please don't insult a Texan with such a dastardly thought...How many Texans are tripping all over themselves to move to the coal mountains of W. Virginia?!?!? This group really causes me to bend over in laughter. They don't know what they are up against when they challeng ANY Texan!

CUSA is probably wondering what the hell they going to do with these Appalachian ingrates that they have wrought on the rest of the real South/Southwest group of schools.

The ACC must have really goofed by not adding Marshall Arts School; obviously did no reserach on the school from West Virginia since they are apparently a real NCAA D1-A power to deal with (at least according to a small handful of their supporters on a smack board). Yet I am just trying to figure out what the hell city they are located since most of us Texans have never made their city (least of all their state) a place of destination for business, fun and leisure.

Yet they are apparently too dumb to count up to "ONE" winning season for SMU tht last 17 years (who in hindsight CUSA probably wishes they had not invited now which was the final straw for TCU to head West). Herdkeeper says that everyone hates UNT? Well, condescending (what about?) is not even popular in its own backyard! LOL!:)

I don't know about this CUSA gang, NT Old Timer, they sound like they have all the ingrediants of being a far flung WAC-16 all over again. Also a league with a poor and imbalanced blend of private schools and outrageously low entrance standards public schools. Maybe we should stay put for something better OR just wait for CUSA to have a collegiate conference's equivalence of a bowel movement to rid itself of some of its most stinky schools? The Big East did dump Temple, now didn't they?

GOD BLESS TEXAS! As Davey Crocket said leaving TN for Texas: "I'm going to Texas and everyone else can go to hell! :chair:

OK this is who NT has been beating to go 19-1 in Conf.

Sun Belt
Arkansas State
Idaho
Louisiana-Lafayette
Louisiana-Monroe
Middle Tennessee State
New Mexico State
Utah State

Their only loss in the 20 games is to Ark. State. Take a good hard look at that conf and take a good hard look at C-USA, and tell me if any of these schools can compete with the new conf. . And not compete 4 yrs from now. But right now. Four years from now does us no good.

Now NT is 2-13 OOC in the last 3 years, with wins over Baylor and Troy. Their basketball is horrid. In the last 3 yrs they have a winning prt. of .268. And they have no baseball team, which should put an automatic strike for them.

Just a little basic psychology and understanding of someone from Appalachia would give you the answer to your question, GreenWave Fan.

Fact is, UNT probably has just a little too much going for itself that Herdknockers everywhere know their longterm scenario will never be able to match.

For instance, just look at the population alone within a 1 hour radius of UNT's campus? I'll do some research, but I think that 5.2 million in the North Texas Metroplex is larger than the entire population of W. Virginia. I know it is larger than that of 28 other states in the union.

Green is the color that best describes the adjective that Herd'alos everywhere have toward the MEAN GREEN. :crying:

I'll put Randy Moss against any secondary cover guy EVER to come from Texas.

Unlike my counterpart from TX, I don't want to get into a flame war by hurling insults. But the truth Hurts. Marshall, the former-1AA school from "lowly" West Virginia, has accomplished more in 7 years at the 1-A level than North Texas has done in 20 years. For one thing, Marshall hasn't had a losing season in 20 years.

Again, I find that when people can't use logic or facts to back up their argument, they usually resort to name calling and slander. It seems we've hit a nerve. And for what it's worth, I don't dispise North Texas. I just don't have any real reason to see them in CUSA. That's only my opinion. Other Herd fans may have some grudge against them. If so, I'm not sure why.

Just keep hurling pot shots at WV and all it does is make you look bad since you can't give real support for North Texas.

Seems "YOU"VE" hit a nerve?!?! LOL! Have you read your schools number 1 alum's posts the last 3 weeks? Who seems to have hit the nerve here?

Randy Moss is a psycho case and needs to be on some prison football team. Send him down here to Huntsville, Texas, those guys will make a real man out of him! LOL!

I would never brag about my school having such an alum as Randy Moss. He, too, has had an encounter with coal dust of the brain!

GOD BLESS TEXAS!

I'll take the worst day in Texas over the best day in poverty country!

The fact is MGG we have proven ourself. Our coach right now is 87-17. With a winning % of .845. We are 53-9 vs our conf in 7 years and have only lost 2 games at home. Yes, we are still in single digit losses here. Can you say that after you was in your conf 7 yrs. We have won 6 div titles, 5 conf tiles and 5 straight bowl games.

We just had reciver get his second superbowl ring in Troy Brown with the Pats. Yes if you didn't know Troy is from Marshall. We have 3 of highest profile NFL players in Byron Leftwich, Chad Pennington and Randy Moss. Nate Poole who ended the Vikes season with his catch for Arazona is from Marshall and Jason Starkey who started the play is alo from the Herd. In the past 3 seasons Marshall has put 24 players in the NFL.

That's because your school doesn't have any alum that even fit to carry his jock strap.

How about Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, or maybe Troy Brown (with his 2 super bowl rings). I got an entire list of playmakers in the NFL from Marshall. When North Texas can come close to Marshall's level, come back and talk smack.

Come on now, the MAC until last Fall, has been a tiptoe thru the tulips for Marshall now hasn't it? UNT is building its record in a similar league that yall had to do the same for all those years.

And sorry, I don't follow the NFL. Too many overpaid prima donnas that need to go out and work a real job before they negotiate their next NFL contract.

I am not even a Cowboys or Houston Texan's fan for what its worth.

Have I missed something, but why are you trying to prove yourselves to anyone here. I thought I read somewhere that yall were already in CUSA! Damn! Guess its time for me to go to bed on that one! :snore:

Oh, I think 2 former UNT greats and NFL Pro Bowlers (and one in the NFL Hall of Fame); namely, uh, Mean Joe Greene (4 Super Bowl rings) and ex UNT'er/SF 49'er Cedric Hardman could have ripped Randy Moss's jock strap off and wrapped it around his head a few times.

You Marshall Arts U people really don't know that much about NORTH TEXAS now do you? People in the Southwest know plenty. Darrel K. Royal once tried to get UNT into the (now defunct) SWC one time until some private schools got the heevy-jeevies worrying about another large state school being in their (then) domain. Times are changing in that dept, though.

You speak of Marshall's level once again? Let's see now one more time>>>Troy State beats Marshall just last Fall and NORTH TEXAS handed Troy State their jock strap in the same season? Are we up to your level yet? Will you let us know when we get there?

BTW, what is the SAT score minimums required for some of these hardly what I heard were mental giants to gain admission in order to play football at Marshall? I believe CUSA has a bit higher standards than your school is used to dealing with or recruiting to now doesn't it? Can make a difference, ya' know, especially when you have to put a player in a class called "Learning To Spell My Name" 101......

Tell you what, I am going to be in Dallas on business this Friday, I'll just stop in, say hello to CUSA officials and then tell CUSA Commish' Banowsky that an alum on a smack board whose school doesn't even start playing in his league for another year or so has gone ahead and banned NORTH TEXAS from the 2'nd coming of the Big 12, OK? 03-cool

You are a real goober, you know that?:)

Firstly you should be reminded if UNT or UTEP gets the invite, there will still only be 4 Texas schools in CUSA as "Texas" Christian U was obviously in the Lone Star state; so in essence, no changes in the number of Texas schools in CUSA period. Why the dramatics on 4 Texas schools in CUSA.

I'd say CUSA needs the exposure of 4 Texas schools in it largest populated state as to try to get some semblance of media coverage away from the Big 12 and in DFW, the Mountain West Conference and TCU. There used to be a league down here called the Southwest Conference that had 8 Texas schools in it for almost 100 years. I tend to think 8 is a bit much, though--so did Frank Broyles and the Arkansas Razorbacks who left it as a "Texas only" league before the advent of the Big 12.

THEN.....You say IF UNT gets the invite, yall will pull out. (Have you informed your AD of your decision on that one)? I'd bet he would disagree with you on that (as well as many other things that come from your most tunnel-visioned keyboard).

THEN....you say, "the funniest thing I'd ever "saw" this year was my post when I said CUSA would pull a Big East/Temple scenario on yall and kick your butts out. (Hey! I was just kiddin' on that one).

In the Southwest where most of CUSA's population is centered, NORTH TEXAS has more name ID and a better profile than Marshall based on geography alone and recent successes. You know how yall stockpiled a few years of successes in the MAC? Well, that is exactly what we are in the midst of doing in the Sun Belt. But more people down here are supposed to know more about us because this is where the hell we are located for heaven's sake.

Many out there also know we have many rich and famous alums. (Later, I'll give you that list if you want proof of who all those alums are). Yet, until yall were brought into CUSA, I'd say most down here really didn't know what state yall were even located for the most part. All I knew is that yall would annually beat up on some schools in a league called the MAC that (until only last year) has had some real wussies for your football competition.

Obviously down here, MAC football did not get any exposure whatsoever and hardly got southern/southwesterners all lathered up when we would hear your scores on Sports Center as well. Most could have cared less as I'm sure yall could have cared less about scores down here.

BUT.....Marshall did in the MAC what UNT is presently doing in the SBC and that is dominating the league and going to bowl games AND being televised which helps immensely in national name ID.

UNT also has an 18 game SBC football winning streak going. We also go to the best non BCS bowl destination city (that is accessible to our fans/students/alums) for a bowl game, ie, the NEW ORLEANS BOWL. Just ask the great U of Memphis fans how much they enjoyed going to New Orleans but in a bowl setting--I was told they had a royal blast at the bowl game--never mind the score).

Actually, the only thing I knew about Marshall previously is I knew a girl from Hawkins, Texas, whose brother died in your school's football team's very tragic plane crash many years ago.

I am embarrassed to say this, but all these years I thought Marshall was in Ohio. Sorry..... 03-confused

Ahhh, a Texas educatation at it's finest. I can't imagine you're an alum. But if you are, I'm sure NT is just bragging about how well you've represented their education prowess on this board, "y'all". Come on back with "sumthin" reel smart "pod'nah". A Texas draw when spoken may be charming. When phonetically (that means spelled like it sounds) written out that way on purpose, it just makes you sound like an uneducated buffoon. For NT's sake, I hope you are not an alum.

Mean Joe Green is all fine and good. When you can find a star from your school that played in the NFL while one of your current players was even alive, come back and see me. If you want to go back in time, Marshall had Gunner Gatski. If you don't know who he is, he played for the Browns and is one of the toughest SOBs ever to have played the game. He would've made Mean Joe cry.
