Gulf coast rates drop to nothing in the fall. That's a great use for football money. A bunch of us should get a deep sea fishing trip. The curmudgeon patriot fishing club

As angry as we can get at the images we are seeing and the words we are hearing, I would bet the best approach is to let the responsible authorities do or not do their duty. I'm convinced that groups like Antifa or BLM or now the black panthers, want nothing less than some bloodshed and death at the hands of police, national guard, etc. That would give the press that already hates Trump, unlimited ammunition to influence the low information voters. I do believe that once Trump is re-elected, he will have a more forceful approach to all this and many more "leaders" of these groups will be rounded up.

I still think the best answer in the long run may be some kind of peaceful separation. Not another Civil War, not under any circumstances. But I can see that we are so far apart on so many fundamental issues that we may not be able to reach common ground.

There is clearly no room for consensus. There may be room for the less satisfactory compromise. But compromise requires give and take both ways. You give up something for me, and in return I give up something for you.

Let's try a thought experiment. Pick an issue, any issue, and come up with a compromise. What do you want to get, and what would you be willing to give up to get it? Try it, it's hard.

Fun fact, it's only recognized by the NAACP in 1919. The United States recognized the Star Spangled Banner as the national anthem in 1931. Woodrow Wilson recognized it in 1916.

To my knowledge the NAACP does not equal the United States so therefore, it maybe recognized within the black community, but it's not recognized beside that until 2020.

I can compromise on a lot. I could even find an acceptable middle ground for all the issues the left say they want. But ultimately those demands are a smokescreen. There can't be compromise when you are negotiating against authoritarianism. It's not so much about what they want is it is denying you everything.

And that's my point. For compromise you have to give me something. They don't want to do that. As long as they can just move along toward their goal, without giving up anything, they will eventually get where they want to go.
