Crowds in Hong Kong...
gathered at the US Embassy to celebrate America's Independence. How ironic, people at a communist city want to share in our independence and people here in the US wants us to be like their communist overlords.

Not too bright those anarchist in our country. They better hope and pray(?) that they don't EVER live under Socialism/Communism, they will rue that day.

Except Olliebaba the Marxists we have here work for and are funded by Corporations which are run with a fascist mentality. So our commies are so stupid they are doing the bidding of their most dangerous ideological enemy. But as usual it's the educated middle class that is under attack. That happens whether commies or fascists come to power. Only here the fascists are smart enough to expend the commies on the middle class so they don't have to attack their clientele base directly.

But your point is well taken about what is happening in Honk Kong. I truly feel for those good people. But then I felt the same way about Taiwan.

But are they really ideological enemies. Aside from some externally crafted and basically meaningless "left" and "right" descriptions, where do they really differ? Both want super-strong and intrusive totalitarian central governments to micromanage economies and lives. Hard to see a dime's worth of difference.

Absolutely they are but it is very easy for the West to see them as the same, but they know the difference. We see them as two wolves. The see each other as two alphas from different packs. One is corporate control through government and the other is control of the corporate by the seizure of government. The outcome is the same but the ideology is polar opposite and make no mistake these people are ideologues and to them the difference is everything though the effect is identical.

Stink makes an excellent distinction as well in that style of control varies. For instance I would wager that Hitler was truly more popular with his people than Stalin ever was because the kind of control was vastly different. Stalin's people lived in fear of displeasing the Government. Hitler's people took pride in opposing the enemies and being part of the machine. Hitler rewarded those loyal to his system and oppressed those disloyal to it. This created the illusion of freedom for those who stayed in line. This is exactly what the corporations here are doing. You advance as long as you tow the line and those who would disagree or disrupt are ruined in a corporate world by one letter in the personnel file, which may be a worse form of terror than anything the KGB or Gestapo could inflict. We have people in the U.S. today that are becoming social lepers when it comes to employment. Failure to comply with corporate edicts banishes people to work for minimum wage unless of course they are bright enough to work for themselves. You couple being able to be fired for no reason to job application processes that cannot be considered on the basis of qualification alone but must be accompanied by what you last employer had to say about you and the perfect system for abuse is set up. Failure to obtain a favorable review by another corporation means no consideration by the next. I've worked with enough people who have been broken in this manner to see the power it wields.

I'd make it perpetual. Declare yourself for Da Revolution, get a free forever trip to the Socialist Paradise.

P.S. a lot of folks would get to see what real racism is like real quick, but even Xi would have a hard time thinking these dumb ass white kids and black Marxists can ever be Han.
