BREAKING - SCOTUS rules that electors must vote with state's outcome
Quote:WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court eliminated one of many potential problems facing the 2020 race for the White House Monday, ruling that states can block members of the Electoral College from ignoring the popular vote on Election Day and risk altering the course of history.

The decision will prevent 538 presidential electors from sidestepping the voters' choices and seeking to change the results of the presidential race when carrying out their duties a month after the election.

The unanimous ruling was written by Associate Justice Elena Kagan.

Thirty-two states already require the people chosen on Election Day to cast ballots for the winner of their states' popular vote. Eighteen states have no such requirement.

The way I understood was whomever won the popular vote, several states would cast electorals that way... Ignoring who won their state. They would not enact this until they had 270 electorals together.

It was a case because several Democrats chose to ignore state law in the last election.

it's only no big deal now because it won't happen. Gotta learn the left's playbook.

Good. This was something that the court did need to settle once and for all and I'm glad they did. If your state votes for a candidate your electoral vote should go for that candidate period.

RE: BREAKING - SCOTUS rules that electors must vote with state's outcome
From what I read, there was nothing in the constitution preventing states from determining how their electors cast their votes. So, if I'm understanding that correctly, there was a reason why they ruled on this case.

The Constitution also doesn’t specifically say that you have a fundamental right to have an abortion.

which lends to the unconstitutional coalition of states relative to the electorate....

Well they still don't have to if the state doesn't have a law. But that is the state's choice.

Electors have 1 job and their votes belong to the states. This ruling makes sense.
