Spring 2021
A spring 2021 10 game football schedule could look like this:

March 27. 2021 - Game 2
April 3, 2021 - Game 3
April 10, 2021 - Game 4
April 17, 2021 - Game 5
April 24, 2021 - Game 6
May 1, 2021 - Game 7
May 8, 2021 - Game 8
May 15, 2021 - Game 9
May 22, 2021 - Game 10
May 29, 2021 - Conference Championship
June 5, 2021 - National Semifinals
June 12, 2021 - National Championship

What do you think?

Wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. But a lot of teams aren’t gonna play 10 games. Some will probably do 8. Or less. Others may even opt out of the spring.

RE: Spring 2021
I think it wont happen. That is NFL draft combine and preparation period. Those considering the 2021 draft would be fools to play. Those considering the 2022 draft would also be fools to risk injury before the fall season, which is what the NFL will use to evaluate the 2022 draft.

The networks are not going to the same high dollar for spring games either, with other sports likely to start up. NBA in full swing, MLB, even PGA getting back on the regular schedule and viewers getting to their regular viewing patterns. The value just isn't there. So the revenue won't be there to recoup the expenses of playing, likely not even for the P5.

It just makes a lot more sense to take the year off and restart next Fall.

No thanks. I'd rather cancel the season entirely than do this.

Whether it's 6, 8, 10 or 12 games, you are going to have some off weeks built into the schedule.

RE: Spring 2021
Think if we did move to Spring, the draft would not be a big impact as we are extremely young and only a few seniors. Playing the MAC would be fine. Our travel cost for football was 100k less while in the MAC. It was the other sports that travel cost went up, since there are a number of bus-able teams in the A10. Perhaps UConn will play, time will tell. As of now we are scheduled to play next month.

The Spring schedule SMUstang posted looks good.

Why not start in January or February? Sure it'll be cold but you can't have the season go on until June.

And let's face it, there won't be a lot for CFB to compete with after the NFL regular season has winded down and before March Madness.

Could start a bit sooner, but still need a month for practice time.

My guess for March 20th is because until then it's winter (-:

RE: Spring 2021
Flu season in full swing along with Covid? My guess is spring will actually be worse than it is now. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if they never play in the spring. Concrete frozen outdoor fields up north---hows that safe is that? Plus, where are the TV slots going to come from when 10 FBS leagues, the NBA, MLB, MLS, and college basketball are all competing for those limited broadcast slots? Better keep that ESPN-Plus subscription current. One more thing to consider---in the absence of sports---people are finding other ways to occupy their time. There is no guarantee that the audience you had in Dec 2019 is the same one that will be there in Spring 2021 (or Fall 2021 if there is no spring season).

NCAA FB> than all those but that and NFL saying too bad, we are doing the combine and draft at the same times will kill it.
