Exclamation ****W2-FINAL: UTEP 3 @ Texas 59****
This game is on the LHN which is part of my sports package on Dish.

Texas opened as a 43 point favorite and that number hasn't moved all week.

Texas QB is one of the top 5 Heisman Trophy candidates. The Longhorns are ranked 14th in preseason and are expected to be a better team than last season when they dismantled Utah in their bowl game. They also beat a 10 win LT team 45-14 last season, leading 31-0 at the half. This is a very tall task for a team like UTEP undergoing a rebuilding process in its 3rd season.

The o/u is 58 which means the odds makers expect a score of about 51-7 or so. I'm predicting a score of 41-13 based on my perception of an improved UTEP D and a QB that plays under control for a change. I think a score like that, while not a moral victory at all, would show improvement by the Miners over last season.

Go Miners!

Oh, and I hope getting this thread up will help keep UTEP in CUSA for at least another week. 02-13-banana

If my 41-13 prediction turns out to be wrong in a big way, say 77-0 or something awful like that, I will take solace in the Nevada season of last year. Nevada lost to Oregon 77-6 but still won 7 games and went bowling.

I was at the Sun Bowl last week and I’ll be at Memorial Stadium in a few hours. Not really expecting much from the team. Stay healthy, collect the check, and have fun.

Hoping the Miners play well enough for you to enjoy the game. That plus no injuries and the big fat check will be enough this week. 04-cheers

Won't be back until after the game as I will be indisposed due to excessive swearing, foot stomping and other ill advised behavior while watching the game.

Best of luck to WKU vs Louisville tonight and congrats to UTSA on the wild win vs Texas State.
