It's nice to get some playoff buzz, but I can't get over the stupidity of the writer:
"Regardless, coach Luke Fickell (30-13 at Cincinnati) is positioning himself for the next Big Ten opening. The former Buckeyes linebacker and assistant under Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer has the chops right now to command a Power Five program."
He just turned down Michigan State. But I guess if Illinois opens up, he's gone.

Oh, it's Dennis Dodd. Never mind then. Par for the course.

TCU fans thinking they can lure him away. I loved stomping on that idea for them.

Why on earth would he want to go to Illinois?

^^ He wouldn’t. Robert was being sarcastic.
Reading the tea leaves, Fickell leaves for basically only a hand full of jobs, namely an Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State type gig. Being an Ohio State guy, I truly do not believe he would take Michigan. Columbus based OSU people are really wired to hate Michigan. It’s no act.

Rah - roh.... did my wife just read a press tid-bit to me last night about Penn State's coach resigning over inappropriate behavior allegations? Yes.... I believe she did.
ETA: Nevermind.... Apparently that was the basketball coach.

Its nice to get some early buzz, but UC still has some good AAC teams to play yet. UC will get everyone's best shot this year, so I will be holding my breath.

Makes them all the more worthy if they run the table. Really wish Memphis got into the top 25 this week (and Tulsa). Should be a good game either way.

I know a couple and they hate Michigan more than anything. It’s a impressive amount of hate.

When the Arkansas job opened up, Memphis fans were worried about Mike Norvell taking that job due to his wife being from Arkansas and got him closer to his home in Texas. He told me and some friends the only jobs he'd leave Memphis for was LSU (his dream job) or Notre Dame. We all see how that turned out. Hope he does stay at Cincy, this conference needs good quality coaches, but I wouldn't count on it.

Look I get it. UC list three coaches before Memphis joined the AAC. I was skeptical too, but him turning down MIchigan State was huge. There have been other jobs he was connected to as well that he declined.

I don't think any UC fan thinks Fickell will retire here. Norvell went to a program that has won multiple national championships in the last 3 decades. That's the kind of job I'd be worried about with Fickell.

He should of held out for that LSU job. It probably would have been better for all parties involved.
