Old Dominion: 18,471

2021 Season Average: 18,080
2019 Season Average: 18,272

Remaining games against UMass, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Army. I don't expect much for the UMass crowd, or even ULL. Army has a shot for a big crowd (almost 20,000) but it is Thanksgiving weekend.

UMass: 16,577
2021 Season Average: 17,704
2019 Season Average: 18,272

Attendance average for the remaining games to surpass 2019 average: 19,408.

Louisiana-Lafayette: 15,564
2021 Season Average: 17,276
2019 Season Average: 18,272

Attendance average for the last game to surpass 2021 average: 23,251.
I'm guessing that the attendance will not match. Thanks for putting those numbers together. It is a good way to track progress.

2021 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
What do you all think about the Army game? I'm not optimistic but I think it is a game that LU can win.

Same. We could win. But I expect Army to control the ball and win.

2021 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
Army/LU game: It's about 5 minutes into the second quarter and this game is probably over.
7th time this season the team scores no points in the first quarter.
O-line looks horrible. No run game outside of Willis. Willis is constantly under pressure.

Need to hit the transfer portal. Freeze needs to earn that raise.

RE: 2021 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
The Army game again pointed out large gaps and weaknesses for LU. The OL in the 1st half gave Willis little time to read and react. And the multiple dropped balls by most all receivers denied any comeback attempt. That's 3 losses in a row. The Army game would be a toss up. For Army it was simply big boy football. Nothing fancy. Just I'm bigger, badder than you and we're going to ram the ball down your throat. Try to stop us.

Willis's action and reactions showed his frustration. His play this year seems to have been of less quality, even with more total touchdowns, that last year. This year he is pressing trying to make the highlight play on most every down. That's likely due to lack of confidence with teammates or personal gratification for success. My guess is his preponderance to take sacks and not throw the ball away is a need he feels he must make a spectacular play on every down. But it's poor judgment that he's made repeatedly.

Does anyone think 2021 has advanced his skills and draft status over 2020? And losing his cool in the Army game with the shove/swing at the end was frustration boiling over. With the potential for a very lucrative pro offer, he's off to the NFL. With one year of eligibility of remaining, he would advance his skills with another college year. And that's not going to happen even though it would seem best for him.

RE: 2021 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
It's also possible the OL can't be improved enough over the off season, and next year's schedule is even harder, so things could get worse. Hard to say, but if he gets a life changing dollar amount for the NFL draft this year, no guarantee it'll be there next year. Not sure that's even on the table anymore.

This year vs last is a tough comparison. In hindsight, we only played 1 bowl team last year (overall 29 pct win rate), we played 7 eligible teams this year (53 pct rate). Unfortunately, we only did as well as we did last year because everyone stunk.

It's possible Freeze cost us this Army game with the early aggression. First series of the game and you go for it on 4th and 10 from the 45? Then follow that up with a failed fake punt on 4th and 6? Then two more failed 4th down conversions. Seems possible that cost us 7 to 14 points, if we could of gotten a stop or simply made them use up more clock, and hence less possessions, to score before the half time adjustments. The dropped balls and over throws were all on MW and the receivers though.

Agreed. Especially the OL. Probably 3 or 4. That unit needs a total revamp and new position coach.

I expect the Cure Bowl. I don't think the Sun Belt has enough eligible teams and we are a backup.

I wouldn’t mind facing Wyoming (6-6), Florida (6-6), Appalachian State (10-2), Marshall (7-5), Western Kentucky (8-4), or Boston College (6-6) in a bowl game.
