I hate that they schedule these things so far out, but another home and home against a decent opponent.

So in every year except one from 2025-2033, the Tide has already scheduled two P5 non-conference opponents.

Once again with the observation: It sure looks like the big names in college football are making long-term scheduling plans in anticipation of a larger playoff in which they will want to have stronger schedules to boost their chances of getting at-large playoff spots.

ND and Alabama just re-scheduled their series as well.

Certainly nobody can criticize Alabama for playing a weak OOC schedule. Future P5 opponents:

That's an interesting observation! I guess that means Bama never has to put up any guarantee money. However, it also gives the opponent the maximum advantage for a possible upset (home field plus element of surprise).

I don't think schools like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and others are going to surprise the Tide with how good they are.

Another observation - I wonder if the Tide has received any assurances that the SEC will retain its 8 game conference schedule through this time period. If they were to go to 9 games, Bama wouldn't be able to have 7 home games in years when they have five away conference games. That's a lot of tickets they wouldn't be able to sell.

Duke played us in their on campus stadium a few years back instead of in Charlotte. The stadium, very small, ended up being dominated by Bama fans.

I don't think that will happen in Boston, but you're right that they would probably sell more at Foxborough.

A few extra dollars versus wanting people from outside the area to visit the campus. And it's an ACC-SEC matchup, no matter how you spin it.

This is a big deal for OSU. Alabama will be the biggest non-conference name to ever visit Stillwater. Georgia played there when they opened their rebuilt stadium in 2009. Some Pac-12 teams have played there, such as UCLA, Arizona State, and Washington. Normally, though, OSU has not had many power non-conference teams play them at home.

Bama played Boston College in 1983, in the old Foxboro stadium. Doug Flutie was the QB for BC that day, who beat the Tide in the wind, rain, and snow. That was a different era.

"An ACC-SEC matchup", haha. A game with Alabama is not the same as a game with Vanderbilt.

For any Alabama fans up there, it's a once-in-a-generation chance to see the Tide play in the northeast and BC could sell thousands more tickets to them.
