Whitehouse defended his Bailey Beach Club membership, officially known as the Spouting Rock Beach Association, to a reporter on the eve of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

“It’s a long tradition in Rhode Island and there are many of them and I think we just need to work our way through the issues, thank you,” Whitehouse said when the reporter asked him if a wealthy, all-white club like Bailey’s should still exist in 2021.

GoLocal Providence first began reporting on Whitehouse’s membership in 2017, but he and his staff “repeatedly refused to respond to questions” about his membership at an event in Newport.

“I think it would be nice if they (Bailey’s Beach Club) changed a little bit, but it’s not my position,” Whitehouse told GoLocal Providence news editor Kate Nagle.

When asked if he would pressure the club to push for diversity at the all-white club], Whitehouse said, “I will take that up privately.” He then told Nagle he had no further comment and walked away.

Whitehouse reportedly promised to give up his membership in 2006, though “give up” is a technical term. Instead, he “resigned” in 2010 by transferring his membership to his wife, who is now one of this all-white club’s biggest shareholders, Breitbart News reported.

According to Vice Media, a Whitehouse spokesman insisted that Bailey’s Beach Club wasn’t all-white.

“But [he] repeatedly refused to offer any evidence of that claim or explain the apparent discrepancy between Whitehouse’s own remarks and his claim,” according to the report.

They need to demand that he step down immediately!

But since all of America is in the grip of critical race theory, the 1619 Project, Black Lives Matter violence, and corruption in district attorney’s offices, and a two-tiered system of justice created by the DoJ, Americans must pay attention. White liberals are ruining America and infecting the polity with their racism and their racist solutions to their own racism.

Sheldon Whitehouse won’t resign from his membership at the all-white beach club. Nor will his white liberal compatriots. (Wouldn’t you like to see its membership list?) They will continue their chummy clubbiness. To salve their guilt, they will insist upon new rules in their private schools, in the armed forces, in the government, and in public schools where their children don’t even attend. Most of all, they’ll seek to deplatform anyone who disagrees with their politics.

The threat of the accusation of racism is enough for individuals and corporations to panic and submit to the tyranny of leftist politics. If any elected Republican were a member at an all-white beach club — oh, who am I kidding? Elected Republicans know better. They wouldn’t be part of a racist all-white beach club because they’d know their political careers would be over. Democrats, on the other hand, know that their behavior doesn’t matter. It’s impossible to be a hypocrite when one doesn’t really believe in anything but power for power’s sake. When that’s the standard, any and all behavior is acceptable to the cause. That’s where Democrats currently sit. Their motto: By any means necessary.

What does that mean for normal Americans of all colors? Stop being cowed by the Left. That’s it. Do not buckle when they call names and threaten. Stand firm.

Last week, CNN welcomed back to its network disgraced legal commentator Jeffrey Toobin. Toobin was put on leave — not fired, mind you, put on leave — for masturbating on a Zoom call with colleagues who saw him in action. Does any person reading this believe that she or he would still have a job after being so, ahem, exposed? No. It’s antisocial behavior and would be treated as such. Any person of any character would move, hide, never to be seen again. But not elitist CNN commentators. They are above the rules of normal social interaction. The rules don’t apply to them.

CNN also employs serial fabulist and disgraced former FBI leader Andrew McCabe. McCabe lied to the FBI about leaking to the media on multiple occasions.

The legacy media fancies themselves as moral arbiters — they of the “hands up, don’t shoot” grandstanding, the accusations against innocent high schoolers attending pro-life rallies, and, of course, the whole Russia-collusion hoax. This group shut down any discussion of the Wuhan lab leak theory when it was the obvious explanation for the origin of COVID-19. They participated in the loss of lives by demonizing a medical treatment for COVID because the president at the time, Donald Trump, mentioned that it might be helpful.

These are not morally good people. They’re wholly in the grips of political opportunism. They don’t believe their own woke words, and they certainly don’t abide by them in real life.

Leftist politicians will enjoy the beach at an all-white club while insisting that you infect the minds of your children with self-loathing racialism disguised as enlightenment. The media will cover for and defend them. Their outrage at Jan. 6 protesters or any of their other hobgoblins are pure psychological projection. They accept racists and public masturbators as leaders because in their cynical worldview, they believe all people are as depraved as them. They’re wrong.

Don’t accept their implicit, and explicit, accusations. They don’t believe their own rhetoric and certainly don’t live by any of it. Their outrage is theater. Their goal is power. Deprive them of an audience and ignore them.

America is not the racist, bigoted, hypocritical hellscape that leftists seem to believe it is. Their networks and clubs are, though.

Tapper said Serfaty had been reaching out to the club and the senator, “trying to get clear answers” but that “it was not easy.” “They are being very evasive here,” Serfaty said. She said they didn’t or wouldn’t clear up the reporting on the issue. She said they hung up on her multiple times. They told her because they were a private club they wouldn’t give out names of the members and they had no comment.

They said they were finally able to get through to Whitehouse who said, “The club informs me that it does, in fact, have diversity in membership.” Then he went into full-bore spin, “I believe that there were, I don’t spend a lot of time there so I couldn’t tell you who the members are.” His office claimed that the club didn’t have a restrictive policy and that the club has had members of color, but provided no evidence to support the claim about there were such members.

Of course, there’s no “official” policy that anyone can point to, that would be too problematic. But clearly, Whitehouse thought there weren’t members of color and didn’t even bother to deny it when questioned. Now that the spit has hit the spam on this, now the spin is coming out. If they actually had members who were not white, why didn’t he just say that when confronted? Why had he previously agreed he was going to leave the club because of the issue?

Now he’s trying to spin away from it with “I don’t spend much time there” so I’m just a poor ignorant member who doesn’t really know what’s going on, not someone whose family has been there for decades and someone whose wife is one of the largest shareholders.

Not buying it, Sheldon. Where are any of the Democrats calling this out? Notice the deafening silence.

I commit to working with the club and the community to build a more inclusive membership and to better connect with the local community.” [….]

Whitehouse, in his statement to Fox, also said his family would remain a part of Bailey’s. “There have been calls for me to resign from the club, which I understand. However, I have no membership to resign, nor will I ask my wife or any other family members to do so.” [….]

“I was attending an unrelated event and wasn’t prepared for the question. At the time, I made the mistake of accepting her premise. I then checked the assertion and was assured that, first, the assertion was wrong, there is diversity in the membership and there are non-white club members; and second, that improving diversity remains a priority and an active task for the club’s new board.” [….]

He added: “The recent attention to this issue has prompted me to assess all my affiliations and to consider whether any involve inequitable or exclusionary policies.”

According to WPRI, Whitehouse belongs to the Ida Lewis Yacht Club, although Whitehouse did not name the club he was referencing. Notice how he said “sailing club” not “yacht club” in his defense, to downplay the “yacht” part, I suspect. He also said “lacking diversity,” likely another downplay. But just like with the beach club, he and his family have been connected to the Ida Lewis Yacht Club for a long time. Fox notes how someone who appears to be his grandfather was listed as a “commodore” of the club in 1937.

If he “has no membership to resign” from the beach club, when did that membership end? After this all hit? He says he wouldn’t ask his wife or family to quit. But as we previously noted, it isn’t just about membership, his wife is one of the largest shareholders in the club. He’s been asked about the beach club since 2006, he’s just now reassessing his memberships in clubs?

The club is now claiming that it isn’t “all-white” in a statement they released to WPRI.

“Recent characterizations in the press and in other commentary about Baileys Beach Club are inaccurate and false,” the club told 12 News in a statement issued Wednesday.

“Over many years, Club members and their families have included people of many racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds from around the world who come to Newport every summer,” the statement continued. “Our membership comes from all over the globe to our small club and we welcome the diversity of view and background they bring to our community.”

But because their members are private and unnamed, it’s hard to verify. Obviously, if Whitehouse has to check with the club to find out and doesn’t know, they would appear be, in his vernacular, ‘lacking in diversity.’

So are other Democrats calling out Whitehouse for his hypocrisy? Not at all. In fact, his fellow Rhode Island Congressional Democrats all came to his defense.

“I don’t know anything about the club, but I do know that Senator Whitehouse is an aggressive champion for justice, inclusiveness, and people from all walks of life,” U.S. Sen. Jack Reed told reporters Tuesday on Capitol Hill. “It’s who he is and what he fights for every day.”

Watch the hypocrites circle the wagons. The magical “D” makes it all right.

I say the GOP just put a record number of women in to Congress and every time a minority runs for GOP spots, it’s the libs voting in a white person instead. Also, they destroy any minority with opposing views.

If he’s part of this, must be at the clan rallies with pointy hats, too. The Dems are the ones who fought to keep slavery and segregation. Nothing surprises me. Perhaps, they’ll have a picture of the senator in Black face in the not too distant future

5:10pm EST. There is a lot of waiting in dentistry. Waiting for the patient to get to and settle in the chair. Waiting on assistants. Waiting for a patient to get numb. Waiting for X-rays/scans.

Dentist usually have 3+ work areas and they go from one to the other. They stop by one and read the xrays and start the numbing. Then go to another and fill a tooth, then another and pull one out and then the new patient that just replaced the last one. Then back to the one they numbed up and work on that. Even small practices.
