That’s why I said “largely coherent”. In other words, for the entire existence of the SWC, Big-8, and Big-12—w Virginia is the only school that didn’t fit neatly into their nice cozy contiguous footprint. It’s a luxury that not every conference enjoys and they have enjoyed that luxury for about 100 years. I suspect they will resist parting with it.

It's not about Utah the market, but rather BYU the school/brand.
UCF vs. Memphis is more of the debate if Cincinnati, Houston and BYU are locked in as Big 12 choices.
You have one of the wrong teams "locked in" according to what I'm hearing.
