True, but he mentioned specific schools. Like for example his source said UVA, UNC, WF, Duke, and GT want nothing to do with the SEC because of the academics.
Not surprising that the PAC 12 and Big Ten are working on concepts to salvage the Rose Bowl relationship...but "some sort of merger" would be big news indeed.
IMO, this has more to do with the CFP expansion than realignment. An official merger could make the Rose Bowl part of the fabric and identify of the B1G-PAC that *must* be treated uniquely in the expanded CFP context.
