What If ESPN Raid Proofs the ACC by......
...eliminating the access schools from the ACC lineup?

It solves 2 problems at once.

1. It cuts off B1G access.

2. It removes the ACC's largest obstacle to growth.

I'm referring to the move of 4 ACC schools to the SEC where ESPN has full rights and where each would share the 76.5 million future payout at pro rata.

Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, and old voting partner Clemson would head to the SEC as the SEC finishes out at 20. I suspect such a move may be possible once UT and OU settle and leave for the SEC sometime after baseball & softball seasons end early next Summer.

This would be the final bombshell out of the SEC.

The ACC would then be free to invite W.V.U., Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, T.C.U., Texas Tech and Baylor and yes, Cincinnati and BYU for 20 if ND remains independent.

The SEC would look like this:

Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia

Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

Alabama, Auburn, Louisiana, State, Mississippi, Mississippi State

Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M

The ACC would look like this:

Boston College, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, N.C. State, Wake Forest

Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville

Baylor, Brigham Young, Oklahoma State, Texas Christian, Texas Tech

* Notre Dame

Would BYU be a football-only member or do you think they’d go “all-in”?

Why do you have Duke, North Carolina, and Virginia in the SEC instead of Florida St, Miami, and Virginia Tech (or others)?

Did you not read the title and OP? RAID PROOF the ACC? If Duke, UNC, & UVa are given massive raises and placed in the SEC who does the B1G have to go after who meets AAU requirements? Ga Tech is now an outlier and Pitt doesn't add enough value.

ESPN keeps 100% of their rights in the SEC and their presence balances win/loss football records while adding massive punch in hoops. And UNC and Texas have academic ties.

Tobacco Road is the biggest hurdle to adding value in the ACC because of their opposition to expansion. ESPN winds up with 40 brands, 39 which they already had, and Cincinnati which places them into Ohio with P conference representation.
