I think this is going to be a great game but I would expect a Liberty W. Don't think Troy is still quite back with this coaching staff.

P.S. I think Falwell Jr was the reason Liberty didn't get invited back in the day. Shame though.

I enjoy games like this, I have no idea what to expect. Liberty most likely has a starting OL out and then some covid scratches, but it's not clear the extent of that yet. Another thread runor mentioned it affecting a starting DE, but at least we have a better two deep there, although young. Freeze seems none too happy with his team, and he's normally pretty transparent.

I'm thinking this game looks similar to the WKU game last year (30-24). Maybe a little higher scoring.
The big question is how many will be out due to virus protocol? That could greatly impact the game.

You'll be in a conference at some point. Liberty has way too much potential and resources to not be.

Don't hold it against us. Many SBC fans like Liberty. I'm one of them. I believe if Falwell hadn't been president a few years back, Liberty would've been invited to the SBC. They offered Benson a great deal.

Random thoughts...

The game was not as expected. Both Ds looked good.
The 9 or so players not making the trip impacted the game. Definitely saw some problems on the O-line.
The recent recruiting and transfers helped a lot. The team was missing players and the depth helped win the game.
LU O had a lot of yards and number of plays yet only scored 21. I was surprised and credit to the Troy D.
The LU D played better than expected. They stopped them and the LU O played ball control.
Liberty Flames are now 19-19 all time against the Sun Belt Conference.

Well played Liberty. I had a feeling Malik Willis was going to be the difference maker. He's just too good. He can single-handedly win a game. It's not often you get a player that special.

Players like Willis don't come along very often. And when they do as many times the deciding factor of whether a team wins or loses, the team usually wins. And kudos to the Troy defense. They were able to contain Willis to what LU fans can regard as an average game for Willis. He's been consistent during his tenure at LU that his quality of play has a high expectation. He truly is a remarkable player to watch. My guess is that ESPN is going to give LU high visibility spots to bigger platforms than ESPN+. Willis combined with the Freeze saga makes for good TV.

I can see why HCHF was not happy leading up to the game. They looked sloppy and should have lost the game. Maybe this will get them more focused.
