UTSA -12.5

From what I've seen no utsa fan on their board is predicting a loss, while no MT fans are predicting a win. I see no reason to disagree.

I think we can probably cover. But, getting the win would be a real stretch and very pleasant surprise. I'll say Final Score UTSA 31 MT 21. Hope we do better.

I’m honestly thinking that u guys are gonna give us a hard time today and are much better since last year. I say y’all cover for sure. It will be no blowout. I’d be shocked if it was.

Just so everyone is on the same page, the Stockstill contract is up after the 2024 season, and there is no way for him to extend it. Is that right, Blue Raider fans?

.500 record automatically extends the contract with apr and some other factors included.

I was under the impression that those automatic extensions had a limit and that he used them up.

I can't tell if the MT offense is really bad or if the UTSA defense is really good. Maybe both?

Probably a little of both. Our running game is terrible so if the pass can’t establish anything it is a rough game.

That is correct. He’s capped that out.

So he could legitimately see his coaching career at Middle Tennessee end after 2024? Which would be nice for you guys to have someone fresh in there when all the conference realignment movements begin the following year in a probably different-looking Conference USA.

Can’t believe that wasn’t at least a 30-point win. All of MTSU’s points were in garbage time against our backups. Yards were about 450-70 with less than six minutes left. A couple of MTSU players were getting satisfaction from hurting our starting QB in the 4th. Did not appreciate that.

2024 is not soon enough for me!
As an MT grad, and long time season ticket holder, & Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) member; I made a tough decision this summer. STOPPED buying season tickets, and did not renew BRAA membership; I assure y'all, I am not alone. When you've got 130,000 living alumni who ignore your major sports programs; there is a bonafide reason!!! Our FB program is dead (and MBB is on life support) until MT CLEANS HOUSE!!!!!! Like thousands of other MT loyalists, I love Middle Tennessee but those FOOLS must GO before I will return!

It also appears that Middle Tennessee had a back-up quarterback in during those scoring drives.

The real question for which you should seek an answer??? Why in the He** was your starting QB still in the game in the 4th Quarter?

Fair question. He turned out fine btw, and for some strange reason, our coach actually put him back in again very late in the game. But the best thing I can come up with (though it wouldn't account for us putting our backups in on defense with about 6 minutes left) is that in 2013 (3rd year of our program), we were hosting Houston, and Houston led 31-28 after 3 quarters. We had 5 turnovers in the 4th quarter (yes, FIVE turnovers in ONE quarter) and the Cougars rattled off 28 unanswered points in the final quarter to make the final score appear far more lopsided (59-28) than the game really was. We got 'em back the next season when they opened their new stadium with a 27-7 loss to us, but that 59-28 game still stings a bit.

That said, it was the first conference game of the season, against an opponent we struggled to beat last year, so I completely understand our QB still being in there (at least at the beginning stages of the 4th quarter) despite the score and despite the domination. Games can turn in a hurry if you start resting on your laurels. Though rare, there have been some highly unlikely 4th quarter comebacks in collegiate and NFL history.

Just my guess, but he played so poorly in the 3rd quarter that Coach Traylor wanted him to finish off that first drive in the 4th to end his day on a high note.
