I do hate ESPN more than usual, thinking they had a hand in this.

You only think they had a hand in this? Isn't it odd that AAC pulled 6 teams from a conference they have no media affiliation with but didn't touch any SB schools that could fit their criteria. No such thing as coincidence.

That said for every move there are winners and losers I am happy to be on the winning side on this one but if we weren't in a non ESPN conference we wouldn't have been picked. Now we have to invest and make it make sense.

You're definitely not on the winning side of this. You're going to a conference that's now just as bad as the cusa you left, you'll still have 200 fans at games, still barely make a bowl if you're lucky on average, and bring down the overall competitive level of what used to be the AAC

MWC -1.7

AAC -4.7
Sunbelt -5.7

What's being glossed over is that even with the reduced share, those leaving for the American will make significantly more money than those in CUSA and the Sun Belt. We are going to pretend that money doesn't matter?

All the NY6 money FBS revenue sharing, most NCAA credits are gone now

There is yet to be a legitimate source confirming that AAC will retain the full media contract after UCF, Cincy, UH leaves. The exits fees will help for a few years but not sustain the contract long term.

It helps that the president of Houston, then a member of CUSA, voted yes to defy the terms of a contract, voted yes to piss off a media giant for their own self-interest, and voted yes to f*** over that league from that point forward and any members to follow when it came to negotiating any kind of media deal with that pissed off media giant automatically off the table.

I suspect the dissolution of CUSA (if it occurs) will be most damaging to UTEP and FIU: I still think UTEP has a future with the MWC under those circumstances but FIU would really be in a bad way. Western and La Tech are Overachievers. So, they will both be OK. Old Dominion, the most overrated member of this conference (No Great accomplishments) (but Location, Location, Location)has the Promotional Spin to land on their feet. On the home front, whatever happens to MT has been SELF-INFLICTED .

Can we just go ahead and say that nobody cares about SP+ rankings? That's like posting Bracketology in here as a factor for this kind of stuff.
