Crazy seeing more WKU fans in Houston than Rice fans today.
At the stadium today, this was not true. Closer than it ever should be, yeah. But Rice folk outnumbered WKU fans at least 2-1.

In a city of probably 2 million that is shameful and hard to believe. Hopefully Rice can find it’s way while in the AAC and rejuvenate its fans.

Facts are not embarrassing. How they became facts and how we respond to them can be.

Wins by WKU and La. Tech over Rice and Charlotte just show that the AAC really messed up in some of the teams they picked to call up.

Markets over quality. Not saying the call ups can’t win, but they only have one team in UAB with a history of success. They can’t survive if they don’t have winning programs. This could be the time for the other G5’ers to leapfrog the AAC

I have the utmost respect for my fellow (current) CUSA schools. None of us clearly stands out above the rest. And, it is sad what happened to the conference (thanks Judy). I really feel for the schools that are going to be left here, but I am at least happy the conference looks like it is going to survive at least.

The AAC made their choice in universities on what they perceive is the best potential, not just the current football success. They were also looking at things like facilities, athletic budget, market, etc. Football success, especially at the G5 level is pretty cyclical. Good coaches rise their program to the top, only to see the coaches leave for P5 jobs. Or, all it takes is 1 rare G5 stud QB graduating (looking at you Liberty with Willis). North Texas lost Mason Fine 2 years ago and we have not been able to come close to replacing him.

Generally, schools with higher budgets and better facilities are probably going to do better in the long run when it comes to on field success. There are exceptions of course. But, it is probably the smart play. Wouldn't you agree ? Liberty is set up well for the future because of their athletic budget.

.
I was thinking this was one of the better ESPN+ broadcasts. The announcing crew has been pretty good I thought. The officiating has been somewhat subpar though.

There has been spots on one of the cameras all day. Also the commentators aren't bad, but the audio quality is. There is an echo and it is driving me nuts. Also phantom noise that sounds like it is being fast forwarded during dead noise.
For real. They needed some windex to clean that thing.

Hahaha

We have our own board, plus is this board still a thing?

Good luck vs UTSA, you’re really the only team that matches up with them. (You and USM, I guess)
