becuase you cant claim you want to compete with the p5 with a 15k stadium, and saying you dont think you can do more than 15k..15k would be the smallest in the top 7 conferences... not just capacity but attendance wise...

as far as selling it out now... almost every stadium expansion in the nation is based on projected growth.. look at 99% of fcs to fbs stadium expansion to 30k the last 20 years.. not one of them was selling out their sub 15k stadiums... all are doing more than 15k now

IMO not expanding the satadium is almost a declaration charlotte doesn't think it can compete with its peers

They don't need the capacity until 2023 or 2024 when they move to the AAC. If they don't fill it with the CUSA teams that are coming with them now why hurry. The only teams from the AAC that would bring over flow crowds when they do join the AAC are Navy and ECU regionally. Don't know how many fans travel for Memphis and Temple (if they are not playing across the river at Rutgers). If they have capacity issues for a couple of games until they do expand the stadium then make a deal the Panthers to move those games to their stadium. Think its funny though how people make fun of UMass stadium at 17,500 and yet the AAC takes a school with a 15,000 seat capacity. UMass can expand their stadium too. 07-coffee3

I've seen a handful of traveling fans from any AAC team. If most won't show up for their home games they sure as heck aren't traveling.

Surely the AAC leadership got assurances from all the adds including Charlotte that they would level up

RE: Any update on Charlotte’s stadium expansion?
I had a meeting with a direct report to our AD, and know that we are expanding. The plan is there, but obviously not yet announced. The AAC has seen it, and you have to think that Aresco felt it was a good plan. I do not know when the announcement will come, but I am not worried about it.

RE: Any update on Charlotte’s stadium expansion?
clt says expansion is planned and our stadium is designed to be expanded easily.

clt says we are seeing pricing issues for tickets that would lead to expansion even without the move to the #P6. $100 plus just to get in last week on the secondary market.

You should have seen the tertiary market, it was even crazier!

If I were a South Al fan I would not be slinging any mud about attendance. Hell No one should for that matter. Fill your own before you slam someone else.

I've only gone to SMU, but I also went to see Temple play Charlotte OOC.
