He'll end up somewhere like Troy.

Tulsa

So I am really struggling to find a successful G5 coach with relatively lower expectations has ever transitioned to a major college program and had any sustained success. I'm sure there are some, but I can't think of them.

Briles, Sumlin, Herman, Fuente, Norville, Frost, Strong, Peterson, Taggart?????

I guess maybe Matt Rhule to the NFL. When are these guys going to realize the grass aint greener.

Brian Kelly, Urban Meyer, and Chris Petersen are three that come to mind.

Same three that I was thinking about, although all 3 were pretty successful everywhere they have been.

Brien Kelly: Has been a winner every where he has coached, his 2 years at Central Michigan were his weakest.

Urban Meyer:

Chris Petersen:

I will add Paul Johnson from Navy to Georgia Tech.
I anticipate discussion...if you think he didn't succeed at Georgia Tech, please start with a definition of "success at Georgia Tech" and then bring examples of ANY other coach since John Heisman who had more success at Georgia Tech than Paul Johnson.

You are welcome to also bring your bias against the Johnson "spread option" offense, but be prepared for me to crush you.
