Conferences either have the minimum number of members or they dont. If they dont they could get a waiver.
Otherwise, NCAA has no business meddling in their (conferences) decisions.
Right. The NCAA officially addressed the future scenarios by having a regulations manual. The by-laws in that manual already address those future scenarios.
Okay, so why is the question of future WAC FBS sponsorship brought up ad nauseum here?
Because it's a wierd wrinkle in the NCAA Division I manual that, by the black letter text, the WAC is allowed to invite schools into FBS. I'm pretty sure it's only there because nobody's number one priority is doing cleanup on obsolete parts of the NCAA Division I Manual, so stuff just gets carried over from year to year.

It could be a sign that Florida A&M is angling for a better situation. Maybe the A-Sun, maybe an FBS upgrade (they spent a year as an FBS program in the past before rejoining the FCS ranks). Either way, we may need to keep an eye on them to see what they do next.
No. FAMU didn't win their division, so no SWACCG. Otherwise they would have declined.

Who told you that the SWAC/MEAC didnt accept postseason bids?

They dont, especially if they are going to play in the CCG. At-large is a different story.
Whens the last time the SWAC got offered an at-large berth?

They don't have an autobid due to the bowl. At large was first since 97 I think.

If you're playing in the SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP game there's no bid offered to turn down. The last SWAC at-large was in 1998(Jackson State)

RE: Question on the Future of ASUN & Big South Football
C-USA message boards have mentioned Jackson State, Florida A&M, and N.C. A&T in fan adding theories.
Is it time for some HBCU's to consider FBS?? The fan support and facilities are good. Maybe both sides should at least have a discussion.

I mean the question is always, does the fan support stay good if they abandon the other HBCU's. And do they even want to. The SWAC is probably on ESPN more than CUSA right now. Doesn't first take have a day of the week they focus on HBCU ball now? I don't know if they see more exposure out of it.
It'd be a great get for CUSA though. I have no doubt NCAT would want it since they already left their HBCU conference, but the SWAC schools I don't think would leave.
NCAT would be a great get for CUSA though. When they came to Kennesaw this year it was terrific. Set an attendance record because their fans showed out, the band was fantastic, the fans were nice, their team was competitive. I really wish we got to keep playing them.

Why should they?
