RE: Sonny Dykes to TCU
Despite all the coaching turnover at least Memphis (and all of the other applicable schools) got a conference championship out of the deal. Smoo didn’t even make the title game lol.

Dykes will never be half the coach that he is replacing. I think TCU is insane.

He doesn’t have to move, so that’s a plus for him.
TCU is 40 miles away and I believe the house he lives in in University Park is one of many owned by SMU. I would expect an ECU fan that knows nothing about the metroplex also would know what it means to live in University Park or Highland Park. I can assure you, ECU grads won’t be living there. Finally, Lashlee will do well at SMU and very well if he brings in a respectable staff that includes some Texas roots. There’s plenty of money to do that.
I wish you guys nothing but continued success with the new coach. I know you are upset about losing Sonny..but... you really shouldn't make assumptions about other people pocketbooks or throw out disparaging comments about their alma mater. Not only does it make you sound like a giant douchebag... It can get your ass embarrassed in the real world.

I got confirmation from some inside sources that that is not a rumor but a strong possibility.

That just proves OU is as stupid as Arkansas. Or maybe more stupid.

As a UH fan we know how this feels more than most schools, but I can tell you one thing its a lot better to lose the coach because you are winning than having a bum coaching the team and you can't afford to fire him.

SMU stands for, in this case, Superior Millionaire University - you only embarrass yourself

If SMU stands for Superior Millionaire University: (1) why are we still stuck with Jank; and (2) why aren't we in a p5 conference? Wish we had UH's money man and UH's pro-active Pres.

i font think buying out jank was the issue, but having faith in jank
ive seen your AD talk about how he felt he believed in jank..and to be fair every year even as fans smu looks good on paper, and he has always had a convenient excuse
sanctions, covid, and im sure he'll blame this year on new roster needing time to gel

I wonder if Dykes wishes he had waited a bit. He probably could have gotten Oklahoma instead.

I fully understand the SMU dynamic. I have a cousin that is graduate and Im sure could buy and sell me twice... That doesn't excuse the cheap shot taken above.

RE: Sonny Dykes to TCU
Same thing happened to Memphis when Calapari left to go to Kentucky. He delayed his announcement so he could contact all of our high profile commitments (John Wall and Demarcus Cousins to name a couple), who he recruited on our dime. Guess where they wound up? It wasn't Memphis.
