Sort of a meh article but posted here for discussion.

To some extent, I think his point of view may be right for a lot of Marines enlisted, many of whom do not even realize that as part of the Navy Department, that Navy represents them in any way. There are some who are just hostile to USNA guys; my experiences being that enlisted (and many officers) who do not like USNA guys just assume any officer they don't like is a USNA guy and any one they like is ROTC/OCS.

My perspective; my last deployment before I got out, I had a joint group working for me that was roughly 2/3 Army, we had a lot of banter about it leading up to the game. That was all initiated by the Army guys, none of whom were USMA guys and all but 2 of which were enlisted.

I worked with a lot of good ones from the academy. Worked with some crappy ones too who couldn’t manage a field day with an instruction manual. Always kept an eye out for the motards who wore their class ring everywhere like it was an aristocratic trapping. Lol. Like grampa used to say, keep away from stupid people...they’ll get you killed.
