I mean, that's really all they've wanted this whole time and what all of this is about, so I'm sure they'll be happy with that outcome. No one really knows what's going behind closed doors, but from the outside it just seems like a bunch of pettiness all around.

if WKU had chance they would leave in a heartbeat. Including early. If not for MTSU you would be leaving for the MAC.
And go where? MAC didnt want to expand and the SBC didnt want to take them. Independent is a death sentence unless you have full of cash like Liberty. Just because you hate CUSA and are leaving doesnt mean that the schools that are staying have that option.

The MAC had offered membership to both WKU and MTSU. They just wanted both of them or neither to keep the numbers even. WKU wanted to go badly, MTSU balked and for some unknown reason decided to stick with Judy, screwing over WKU in the process.

MTSU decided it was in their best interest not to be in a rust belt league when you live in Nashville and decided to stay and rebuild CUSA. They didn’t do it to “screw over” WKU.

It’s pretty simple. We didn’t want to sign a long GOR and pay a bunch of money to join the MAC. We would have been an outlier geographically there too (not as bad but it’s the MAC). We’re in a major metro, have nearly 100 million dollars in facility upgrades getting ready to start. It makes sense for us to save some money now and see if the AAC spot comes open. Realistically the MAC is likely going to be there as long as we want. They want exposure in the south and they gain Nashville’s market if they added us and WKU. I would guess in 5 years there will be some conference changes for us but I’m fine with where we are for more.

They're thinking long-term and positioning themselves for something better than the MAC.

They didn't, but I'm not sure I'd consider those two tied together anymore either. If WKU got an offer that wasn't contingent on Middle, I could see them taking it.

They would take it in a heartbeat. We’d both like to stay together if possible but I think both schools will do what’s best for them over what’s best for both. With that being said, I’m sure we would be an advocate to bring WKU with us wherever we go and I’d expect the same with them. Even if we did split up I would still expect to play them every year in just about every sport.

The MAC was never a great fit for us, if there was any truth to the GOR talks we absolutely made the right decision, even with Judy.

And vice versa. If middle or wku got an AAC or sun belt offer by themselves, they'd both go. I think middle wants the AAC in the future. But I don't see spots opening up unless the power 5 purges teams first
Sorry but I don't buy the big 12 or pac 12 going to 14 or 16 with teams like Memphis , south Florida and smu. I think those thoughts are more doom and gloom from sun belt fans wishing bad on the AAC rather than using logic

I completely forgot about that...
MTSU made a big mistake. They may not get invited back because of that decision. At the same time, it screws WKU. Anyone who gets a chance to leave, should run, and not look back. Very stupid move on Middle's part. Very, very stupid.

True. The Big12 doesn't need Memphis and/or SMU. Memphis will have to build an on-campus stadium, and SMU is private school dead weight. No thanks.
