UC stinks. I'm not sure it will get much better next year.

Two bad beatings to go and this season will be over.

So if ECU were to beat Wichita St and Cincy were to lose out. We finish 7-10 they finish 7-11, do we finish ahead of them in the conference standings even though they beat us twice?

its win percentage, not total wins... youd get it

cincy loss has opened the door for wichita and ecu to potentially grab 7th place

simply to stir the pot and welcome the MAYHEM!!!!05-stirthepot05-stirthepot05-stirthepot

Debate topic:
John Brannen was bad at relationships and mean in practice.. let's remove that from the conversation

talking STRICTLY basketball was Brannen a better coach than miller???

- brannen last year insanely difficult non conference, with a very young team ..started terribly, and had player quit...but was competitive at the end and got better

- miller this year - older team, on arguably the worst non-con in cincy history..getting worse as the season went along

Lame-duck years are always stupid, and extra stupid if you are going to pay him 250k on top of his 1 million salary to coach a lame duck. For me to want to see him extended here's what it would take.

Beat Wichita the last game of the season and the first game of the AAC tournament
Newton and Suggs have to stay

This team fell to shambles when Suggs went out, and Newton has carried them to the few wins they have gotten. You can't lose either of those 2, period. Either of them hit the portal and I tell Dooley to hit the bricks.

you also have the portal and multiple ships to play with as is ...gut feeling atleast 1 of your deep bench freshmen enters the portal

newton, suggs, tabbs, frink, sophomore felton, sophomore johnson .. Is a nice core.. TRW and Debuat have experience if they come back

note josh carlton said he would have gone to ecu when he entered the portal who is probably #3 in the POY race .. imagine if he came and tabbs was healthy .. but also imaghine what he could pick up in this years portal

even with a wichita loss, id still want dooley back.. even if he flopped next year, the potential of a breakout year right now for ecu looms to large to pass up with ecu's history.. id probably just put a very low buyout on the contract

That "core" you listed has 2 players you can legit count on in Newton and Suggs. You lose either of those 2 and forget about whatever "breakout" you think is possible.

Ever since UCGrad1992 started acting like a douche, his team has tanked. Karma sucks.

Oh and more cricket soup for you.

Talent on these teams isn’t really close (the only thing you can say as you did is age, which has nothing to do with talent), and somehow Miller still got more out of this team than Brannen did last year, unless you want to give him a bunch of credit for 1-3 pt wins over teams in the 130+ range.

So no, but valiant attempt to stir the pot anyway.

Season looks a little different for Cincy if they had Keith Williams, Tari Eason, and Logan Johnson on their roster. A lot of talent.

Miller has done a bad job with this team down the stretch. I don't think it's a bad sign. His team hit a wall and he hasn't been able to get them back to the level they played for about 20 games. I trust him and look forward I what he does when he gets his guys here but the last 8 games have made this season a huge disappointment.

You are correct, but you could pretty much just say Tari Eason and the season would look drastically different. A competent big who can do even basic stuff like score and rebound occasionally would do this team wonders and Tari does that stuff at a much more than occasional level.

They missed their first 5 layups tonight. Nobody in this team finishes at the rim. It's nuts.

He’s had no answer for the latest adjustment. Which was run DDJ off the ball, make his life a living hell by having to work insanely hard to even touch the ball, and pray Jeremiah Davenport isn’t having one of like 4 games where he just goes off.

On defense, just mismatch guys one on one with Davenport and his awful D, and our short guards/wings.

I’ve seen him try to adjust so it’s not like he isn’t trying but it sure as heck isn’t working. I’ve seen the same stuff over and over the past few weeks. This team is just such an easy scout now that the book is out. It’s a major talent issue.

How much of a coaching issue it is, it’s tough to say until we actually get guys you can do something with. I mean what in the heck are you supposed to do when JD does whatever that was on the final play. Davenport is not a good defender, but it’s not hard to guard a spot on the floor. JD playing bullfighter might be the most perplexing thing I’ve seen someone do in an end of game situation in a while.

I mean I’ve seen people criticize how many 3s we shoot but when you actually watch us and see how bad we are at scoring anywhere near the basket, you pretty much have no choice but to hoist and pray. It’s comical.

Talent. Upgrade. And I’m talking absolute. Start with 5-6 new guys next year, and probably 5+ more the next. Improvement won’t be hard, the key will be how much improvement can we get.

tari alone wouldnt have fixed this.. he plays a point forward role, he alone isn't fixing UCs issues..you need a dominant center
