clt says the sb3 are the Schrödinger's cat of cfb. Both in cusa & sb3 at the same time.

RE: SBC3 on SBC Schdeule
If Judy had done her job and negotiated a decent TV package instead of having us playing on Facebook and Al Jazeera, we could have avoided this mess. I just don't see how people can continue to defend what has to be the worst conference commissioner in the history of conference commissioners. Judy never did one single thing that could have been seen as a benefit to Southern Miss, so why on earth as a charter member of this dumpster fire would we want to hang around?

Also to the tech folks that want to rail against USM, you would do this same exact thing if you had a viable option to leave. If you hadn't burnt your bridges with the Funbelt, you likely would be coming with us.

I know. Like that schedule is any more official than the CUSA schedule. Curious what’s really going on. Especially since CUSA technically has the law on its side

The problem is, she's not fighting the law in Texas. She has to fight the law in West Virginia, Virginia, and Mississippi, where she will run across judges that are likely alums of the schools in questions.

Hence why you see all the sports law experts saying that CUSA needs to settle and cut its losses.

I'm more curious that the SBC released with the 4 and didn't even mention once the legal issues on the other side.

I don't think anyone really thinks that (or ever has).

This isn't a surprise, or a change, or a victory lap. It's always been in the works.

It's just another step in the negotiating process.

Yes it’s probably just easier to release both schedules now and sort it out later

RE: SBC3 on SBC Schdeule
I will offer this advise to CUSA 4.0, fire Judy and go get yourself a commissioner that has some leadership skills. You can rebuild this league and make it viable again with FBS additions wanting a new home. Leadership is what you need right now as the decline under Judy's reign has been staggering. I honestly have no idea how she has kept her job this long!

No one is railing on you. If you want to play ULM play them. And you keep talking about how Judy made a mess of that package but she didn’t screw over ESPN Marshall and USM and the last commissioner did. She pieced together all she could. ESPN wanted nothing to do with CUSA.

I am just thankful we will all have something interesting to debate during the off-season. Most interesting off-season we have ever had.

I haven't seen that at all. Just the people "defending" their best interests here. Which happen to be different than what y'all see as your best interests.

Nobody is railing on USM. And unless you're talking about us joining the SB in 2001, I don't think this is accurate. Not based on how the divisions ended up.

Lol it's funny you only mention ULM. As if they are the only drawing point for our decision. Very convenient of you.

The only things that makes the SB more official is the SB schedule is the one that the teams are actually going to show up to play, unless a court orders otherwise. As to the law being on the CUSA side, that is still to be determined. Yes, we broke the contract, the question is will the courts enforce the bylaws stating we are forbidden from leaving early. Don't need to rehash all the arguments again really, but the law really isn't as settled as your post would suggest. Specific performance is not favored by courts even if contractually obligated, and when a $ amount can make the injured party whole.

But as to the rest something HAS to give soon. Frankly, unless a court orders the SB3 to stay, they aren't showing up for their CUSA games. So it seems to me to allow things to move forward CUSA needs to put out an 11 team schedule so those left can start planning accordingly, either that or sue the SB3, seeking to force them to stay. It's a bit curious how CUSA is fighting this so far, as I've expected more legal attacks from them at this point, but perhaps they were waiting for the SB schedule. The next few days could be very interesting.

I think y'all should shoot for a 3rd and 4th.

Are all the other ones out yet? If I was running the twitter handle for the AAC/MAC/MWC I'd make a fake one with y'all on there just for the retweets.

I say just throw CUSA some extra cash and get the he11 out. USM and ODU performance in football has been bad the last couple years and dragging CUSA down any way. Would be some easy wins for most remaining schools, but just go. Not worth all the drama 04-cheers

We’re just as dumbfounded why WKU et al. are working so hard to keep us here.

So if USM is so terrible and you see no value in the mighty CUSA 4.0 schools playing us, just let us leave. We are trying our level best to get away from Ya'll, but you won't let us leave!

I'm fairly sure few, if any, really want ya'll here next year. This is a process, agreed or disagree about it all you wish, but we have all known it will play out with you guys gone as of July 1st.
