RE: Transfers
According to Jake Lieberman PG Kyrell Luc has been in contact with NU, along with the Bonnies, GW, UIC, and Davidson. Kyrell was Patriot League ROY and is a Boston kid.

RE: Transfers
I don’t see how we land this kid, especially if he’s visiting St. Bonnies. He has other high end suitors too.

I’ve been told he has no plans to visit us right now.

Crazy how Holy Cross has lost two Patriot League ROTY players in the last 3 years.

Maybe not but if our coaches thought like that we wouldn't have pursued Masai. We do have one thing going for us He stayed instate out of high school. Plus, in choosing Holy Cross maybe education is important to him. I'm just happy to see that we are looking at PGs.

There are still 1,500 plus players in the portal. There are still players as of today who are just putting their names in it.

I’ll admit I’d like to have a player or two by now, but there’s still a lot of time and players.

RE: Transfers
I think we are really careful when we target transfers and most of them have been home runs or triples so that's part of it. Plus, there are a lot of teams that have a ton of spots to fill and there's an urgency to get bodies on the roster. Some of the transfers they sign can be projects or guys who won't start. With Metcalf committed, although I wish he'd signed by now, we only have two openings.

That being said, I don't think we are as good a destination as we were before last year's disaster. Our story was always, "we're always a top contender in the league" and this year it's, "we just had an off year."

Is there any chance we're saving one of our two openings in case Shaq pulls himself out of the portal again?

Shaq’s not coming back.

He was a big reason why the chemistry in the locker room was bad. He and Telfort didn’t get along very well.

I also don’t think one bad season sways a transfer one way or the other. I think it’s if the transfer thinks he can mesh with the players on the current roster, the style of play and the coaches.

RE: Transfers
I wonder how much interest Shaq is getting in the portal this year. All of his numbers were down this season and he's got a years less eligibility. Maybe someone wiIl offer based on what he dI'd as a SG the year before.

A Portal Update has us as one of the schools who contacted Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk who just entered the Portal. He doesn't get much playing time but got a couple of starts when their starting center was suspended for two games.

Alex Anderson, a 6' 6" SF from South Alabama, has us on the list of who has contacted him. There is another Alex Anderson in the Portal who is a 5' 11" PG. Maybe we called the wrong Alex.

We've offered 6'4" Harold Woods from Don Bosco. NEXT UP RECRUITING describes him as a combo guard with big playmaking skills who has won big wherever he has played.

RE: Transfers
Feels like we have lowered our expectations at this point. Hopefully, something good happens this month. I do think the poor season we had is playing a factor. Other CAA teams have been very successful in the portal to date

Dude relax. There are 1,500 players still in the portal. What's with the impatience?

Don't worry about everyone else. Again one bad season isn't a factor. That sounds kind of ridiculous.

I was born impatient I suppose, drives my wife nuts! Anyway, maybe things are just moving slower this year and judging activity compared to when we signed guys last year isn't relevant. The competition and who they are signing does scare me though.

RE: Transfers
Sorry, but anyone who thinks that finishing last in the conference and winning a grand total of two league games has no effect on how recruits view us needs to take off their rose colored glasses. I just don't know how big a factor it is. Last year we brought in three quality transfers and two of our three freshmen were three stars. I'm not expecting results like that after the year we had. Time will tell, though.

No glasses for me thanks.

All any transfer has to look at is this program played in 3 straight conference titles and made the semifinals the year before. If a player is solely focused on one bad season then we don’t need him.

Facts.

RE: Transfers
NU has offered L A Pratt, a 6"5" guard out of Pittsburgh. He had originally committed to Duquesne but opted out after the staff asked to play in prep for a year so they could get a grad transfer.  He Has offers from Miami, Ohio, Princeton, Ball State, Harvard, and Northern Kentucky. Says he likes to pass the ball first even though he averaged 19 ppg.

Just watched his season highlights and the thing that stood out to me was that Lincoln Park always seemed to be a lot bigger than whoever they were playing. Pratt handled the ball well, made some creative passes and drove the lane easily. I just wonder about the level of competition. It's a question mark for me but he's PG so I'm happy. There a few full games that I'll watch if he signs.

We got Woods from Bosco Institute in Indiana (near Chicago), who committed to NU today.
